7/11:

Went to barbell club today! Thought it was 11am, but it was at 4pm instead. Oops. So I did the wod instead.

Spend 30 mins to find your 1RM OHS, max pullups (kipping lel) and max box jump. I hit 27 pullups, 100kg OHS and didn't measure the box but it was a lot of plates. Wod after was like normal crossfit, who cares?

Tomorrow I'll squat.

7/12:

HBBS:

335x5x3 Man. Feels good to hit these numbers. Hips are feeling great, knees feeling great. Still tightness in my left glute as I get to lockout during the ascent. Once I figure out that issue I think my numbers will improve even more!

vidyas:

set 1:

After that set I was pretty out of it mentally. It took a lot out of me and I was just kinda standing around glassy-eyed and a guy goes "those were some LOW squats!" I think I said "thanks?" Was weird. He was not squatting low. dunno how I'm supposed to respond.

set 3:

More grindy. Felt way worse than they looked. left glute pain more prevalent on these reps but it's only on the lockout so it doesn't affect the rep much...I think.

I recently ordered a shirt that allows me to give similar advice, although via the Internet.

Sleeves aren't too small, arms are too big.

Did you ever wear knee sleeves before? How many mm are the SBD ones? I just found out a few days ago that the Rehband sleeves I once bought are only 3mm, while the "blue" ones everyone was actually recommending are in fact 7mm. Quite a big difference.

I have never worn them or tried them out before! But I hear they make a difference so might as well try em out. A couple guys (incl my coach) suggested SBD or rehband, and after a few reviews it seemed clear to me that I should go with SBD. They're 7mm

I read a fair amount of the sizing concerns ppl have and measured my knees to a XL so I got a Large. Today I put them on and they fit pretty perfectly. I could have probably gotten a Medium on but reaaallly not sure. They were hard enough to get on lol.

Felt great though!

Front Squat doubles

Yeah, I was going to recommend going pretty true to size (or whatever they recommend as a tight fit). I think they;re great, there's a reason they're getting ubiquitous in the PL world.

Wtf. I was just about to splash out on new SBD knee sleeves and wrist wraps and when I measure my knee joint I have XXL basic fit / XL tight fit according to the sheet. I measure ~41.5cm (16.4inch)

You saying you could've almost gone with M and being kind of similar build/height makes me really confused as to wtf I am supposed to order now.

What did you measure? And how? Just around the knee right?

Looks like you are not fat then, just bigboned. Heard that one before.

Nice arms, but that thigh gap looks a little worrisome. Might be time to hit that leg machine where you squeeze your legs together to see if we can build that area up a little. Just a thought.

Right, the tight fit is probably ideal.

Wow, they're becoming that big huh?

My calves were 16.25 and knees were 15.75. And yeah, right around the knee. Surprisingly both knees were the same. I guess a lot of people have different sizes. For you, I'd say L would fit and be tight for sure. I wouldn't want them too big though, so I doubt I'd wanna try XL

Goddamnit I thought I just made up my mind buying the recommended tight fit XL's.

It really seems like the right play given that chart. Buying them too small would also be a bad play.

Actually, since your knees are .65bps larger than mine you'd probably be fine in XL

So my barbell club has a meet this Saturday that I'll be going to, but not competing of course. Still too new. Maybe the next one, though!

Anyway, my coach is a 77kg lifter and I'm pretty facking pumped to watch him lift. He weighs 76kg right now (168 USD#1 lbs) and recently DLed 550 and squatted 405x5 and he's pretty upset that his clean PR is still only 355. Must feel badman. lol.

Man, I'm jelly though. Those numbers are just unreal.
