Fred flintstone physiques. The cure is high rep brosplit+creatine+clen+ephedrine.

Good blog though. I've only pulled the trigger on the first encounter at a gym a handful of times. Its different because you're almost guaranteed to see them again at some point and you can pick your spots for #s better if things aren't going 100% the first round.

Today I decided not to do my back stuff since I'm going to be rockclimbing a bunch tmw. Started with a bunch of shoulder mobbing and some pec rolling.

dumbbell benchpress: 5x10

75x10x2
75x9
75x8 Ugh, I am weaksauce
55x10x4 Pretty hard. Just trying to get a lot of reps in bc not really doing much else

After this I rolled my traps with the barbell in a rack, did a bunch of OHPs with the bar and then worked on hand/headstands.

wod2: 10x{row 30s on, 30s off} Resistance level 5

1479m

Overall a pretty terrible workout. Cool.

After stretching I went over to the benches to do my db bench press and the only available bench was next to Rebecca, the girl from yesterday. Well that's convenient. I put my stuff down, get my weights and bring them over and we start chatting right away.

Mostly chit chat for a few minutes and then I ask her if she wants to get a drink sometime. She goes "well, I'm certainly not opposed to the idea. but I don't really know you. Maybe we could go to sweetgreen after a workout next week?" And I rolled with it. Seems fine. Didn't get digits. She seemed like she wanted to just meet up organically at the gym sometime next week after work when we both go. So who knows if it'll happen.

She was wearing the same tank top as yesterday. and pants. Weird.

Unbelievably gorgeous day out today. Maybe 68 degrees, clear, no humidity. Going rock climbing later but wanted to get out and enjoy it all so I decided to lace up the ol running shoes and take them for a spin. Didn't really expect to go too far but I was having a good day. Went down towards DC and was expecting to turn back but when I saw all the people headed towards the cherry blossoms I figured I should go down as well.

So I went over the bridge from VA into DC, down through the Georgetown waterfront area which was all abuzz. Bishes doin' brunch and whatnot. People were watching some collegiate crew race of some kind as well. I walked down to the Kennedy Center and then by some monuments before heading back into VA towards the Arlington Natl Cemetery. Walked through that (signs say no jogging) and then jogged/walked home. Route says 9.8 miles on mappedometer.com but I only ran like 7 of those probably. Good times! Now time to go scale walls!!

What a weird answer from the chick, like did she think you were asking her to drink you already? Asking for a drink is the same as asking to go drink Soylent Green after the gym except she got to call the shots, not great.

You should probably just never bring it up again and she'll start wondering wtf is happening.

Yeah I have literally no idea about her response. I'm putting zero eggs into that basket right now. If something happens, I'll roll with it, otherwise idgaf. She may just be aspergery.

Cleans: EMOM for 20 mins

Terrible lifting day. No energy. That run yesterday wiped me out. I started at 225 for the cleans but only did about 7 before I started failing them. I failed 3 in a row and gave up. Punished myself by doing 50 thrusters at 95 since I do want to get better at them and I wanted to get some semblance of a workout in.

Seated db press: 5x10
Curls: 5x10

40s for seated OHP and 70 on ez curl. Even after those thrusters 40s weren't too bad. I could tell my form was slipping towards the end, though. I need to roll/stretch more before I start shoulder stuff. argh.

Sore from working out this weekend (mostly running -- quads still quite sore) but I wanted to do something so I decided to do

45 thrusters for time. Took me 5:22. It was terrible lol. My wrists were on fire and it's such an awkward move for me. I wanted to do this bc Fran is 21-15-9 thrusters/pullups and I've never done it before so I want to at least get the trusters part down. And I think it would be good for me to get more lightweight overhead to help train my body.

Afterwards just did mobility and ab stuff. Decent sweat.

45 thrusters at what weight?

If your wrists are on fire then it sounds like your hands are carrying more of the weight than they should be.

Oh that's definitely the case. As I get tired I'm sure my upperbody is collapsing, I'm leaning forward into the front of my stance, and the bar is putting more pressure on my wrists.

I also have inflexible wrists and it's something I need to improve on. I probably should do a lot more front squatting as well.

Also, if I decide to do these thrusters regularly, I should be getting better at them. Considering how bad I am at them currently I think it would be a great thing for me to work on.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention this in my last log post.

I saw Rebecca at the gym again for the 3rd straight time. The first time we chatted. The 2nd time I asked her out and she seemed to feign reluctance but then suggested to get food after a workout sometime. The third time was 4/13. I started my day by making a bee-line for the squat racks where I waited for a few minutes while stretching. Right before one opened up she came up behind me, said hi that's about it. I did my thing and I coulda sworn she was watching me in the mirrors every now and then.

I finished and didn't know where she was at any longer and I go over to the corner of the gym to stretch. A few minutes into it she comes over, drops her stuff off right next to me and we chat for a bit longer. She then goes to grab a swiss ball and a 25lb plate and begins to do some ab stuff. Eventually I make some kind of comment about how I should try that exercise she's doing and she tells me that I already have nice abs. I tell her they could be better and she says hers have been, too. At some point she gets up and leaves and takes her bag but leaves her swiss ball and plate on the mat without putting them away. lol. Hate that.

ANYWAY. Just continuing to build this rapport. Dunno if I even want to go out with her....I think she's aspergery. Seems genuinely very sweet though, but that may be her NC accent (guessing)

Maybe she was lying about how she felt about your abs and was making a subtle suggestion.

4/15:

Went to a work HH. Had a couple drinks and tons of apps. Mostly meat tho. About 8pm I was like "f it, I wanna gym" so I left and went to do front squats, a la Evo.

FS:
195x5x10

db bench press
70x10x5

Then some shoulder mobility crap

FS felt good though. I need to do them more for sure.
