solid burn by dt. I loled

soulbro: how many I've been on 2+ dates w/? Yeah it's a lot. I can look at my log but what's probably also neat.gif is the # of 3 daters. Often I find that when I like a girl, she'll give me two dates, and I won't get a 3rd. if I don't like a girl, I rarely give her a 2nd date.

Okay guys. Real talk. I feel like I am losing all gains and aesthetics quickly. I feel fat and gross. idk what my weight is but I am no longer strong and I feel like my abs are worse than I can ever remember. Barely even there. Worst part is that my diet has been pretty good recently. Not great, but not really any different than it has been over the last few years. I guess when I'm not squatting heavy 2+ times per week then all that food just turns into disgusting love handles instead of gains. Cool. kill me now.

I need to take some noods for wanking reference.

You probably still look better than I do, which is damning with faint praise, but still. Hold onto what you can.

I mean, I still look pretty good imo. I don't really think I'm disgusting or anything, I'm just not at all where I'd like to be and progress seems harder than ever. Olds, sure. But I feel great. I'm just not lifting enough. I'm not doing enough. I'm cheating too much. I'm drinking too much beer (which isn't much, but since I rarely drank before and now I am from time to time)

I just need to hold myself accountable

So real talk = you whining about not looking good because you're too lazy to eat well/train enough?

You need a program, a measurable goal and a timeframe

Do I get some more passes once I'm actually dadding? Honestly, not sure I've said anything remotely funny on here in months anyway (ever?).

Real, real talk, though: where are the Fing pics ITT? That is really what's gone downhill rather than BtMs lifting total, ab definition, or crazy chick avoidance. I don't open up this log looking for whining, I open it looking for winning.

It's bcuz you all about dat pussy now, mane. It's like reverse steroids.

But I echo the mandate for a goal, a program, and a timeframe. The best exercise program is the one you can stick with. You might be not sticking to yours not because you are unmotivated, mentally weak, or busy, but because you physiologically can't without getting hurt/chronic pain.

I wouldn't bother with olytarding if you can't actually get to the gym 3 times a week or if you're having low back/hamstring/knee/general lower body problems.

Maybe a chest+tris, back+bis, legs 3 day a week split would be appropriate. If you're hurting from squats, try doing them less frequently and at lower %s but higher subjective effort and volume and see if that helps. It worked for me, anyway.

Some actual real talk: I think it's hard to stay motivated enough to progress/get better at most activities after achieving a decent level of proficiency/after x amount of time. Especially if you don't compete, there aren't any other benefits from the hobby, actually impacts other aspects of life somewhat negatively etc etc. Your goals in lifting are rather ephemeral as well no? Have you ever really enjoyed lifting or has it always been a means to an end? So and and so forth.

Sounds like a fairly natural reaction to me. Not unpossible to fix obv.

Yeah, not gonna olytard until I'm actually healthy enough again. These nagging injuries really make the desire to go to the gym go down the tubes. Eventually I'll be healthy again and will gym 4-5 days again and be able to include squats and everything. It's just this interim period where I struggle since I don't have a plan.

100pus + running my 2mi helps. I do it every time I gym and it's something I've been improving at. It's not enough, of course, but it's something.

I don't think that I ever had much of an issue w/ motivation while healthy. In fact, I always used to look forward to it. I really do love squatting and cleaning. I have never slogged my way into the gym on a squat day the way most people go to the gym. I just need to get healthy again since I still have that desire, but I can't do it, which is obviously frustrating.

Def need to realbench more. I'm doing real push ups tho, so that's something. And I don't do nearly enough pullups. Def need to program them in just as much.

eh, didn't mean to come off as whining at all. I made the post in order to hold myself accountable. I know what I'm doing wrong and I know how to fix it. Olds suck, injuries suck, but that's not an excuse at all.

2/16:

Lots of stretching and lax balling of my hammies to help loosen things up before attempting some squats again. idk if it helped, but squats were a little better!

HBBS:

Lots of warmups at 45, 135, 185, 225 and then finally got into some semi-challenging weights.

245x5
255x5
265x5
275x5 Semi-challenging weight. Still some upper glute tightness during the top end of my ascension but it feels less than it used to. Maybe progress! Maybe not. we'll see next time.

185x10x4 These were pretty easy and I tried keeping the breaks short between sets. Just trying to get more reps in with good form.

During a lot of these squat sets I super-setted YTWLs with a band. Maybe 6-7 sets of 5 reps.

Run:
2mi @ 8.2mph in 14:36
Pretty easy despite having just done a million squats and pretty sweaty.

Overall....great workout!

2/20:

warmup: 100pu app. k.

HBBS:

225x5
245x5
265x5
275x5
285x5 hard. lol me.
275x5
275x2 and quit.

jfc what is wrong w/ me?

2 cleans + 2 push press:

165x(2+2)x8 with 1 min break each set. Good sweat. failed the 9th so I stopped at 8.

I would say a lack of consistency in your training+diet+ maybe life in general. Whenever I am feeling strong and powerful and energetic and workouts go well is always when I am on top of everything, all aspects. Lose grip on 1 thing and I start failing and getting weak too. I'm in the exact same boat right now. Can't wait to give it my all again.

That, plus an injury, plus quitting your oly club, plus not being on a real program, kind of deciding your workouts on the spot (unless that is not what you are doing)... Does not seem like consistency to me bro

Go to the gym and do something that doesn't involve squatting, imo. If it's giving you issues that doesn't mean you should stop completely unless the issues are severe enough, but you should probably do them less frequently. It's okay, there's a ****ton of other fun things to do at the gym.
