But they are calories that don't really make you feel "full" very easily. Making it harder to maintain your caloric deficit, no? I can't speak on the frutose convering to fat bs or w/e it is, but the idea that eating fruit while dieting (or maybe extreme dieting) is kind of a "waste" of calories makes some logical sense to me.

I already answered that arguement. Nobody has ever binged on fruit. Nobody is telling you to eat half your daily calories on fruit, either. An apple, orange, and cup of berries is lots of volume and less than 300cals. Loltastic.

What is not as good is fruit juice. I could drink a liter of orange juice like nothing. Fruit juice is basically soda with vitaminC. I am a hater.

I guess i may of overshot how many cals I thought were in portions of fruit. An apple especially.

All of this post, but with specific regard to this sentence I'd add also vary your diet. This might seem obvious, but in the context of a thread that's suggesting wine>>>fruit, it's worth emphasizing.

I waited longer than optimal because a bunch of people were in there doing heavy deadlifts preparing for the meet. Felt kinda cold, tweaked back a little and needed a bit of help on 4th. I already didn't increase Bench 1RM from last cycle, so that sucks.

Food has been pretty good. I went to a place with arguably the best cheese curds in Madison area and only had one curd. They had a tap takeover and it was tough to pass up Founders Beer for vodka diet sprite at happy hour and be the only 1 out 6 guys not drinking it.

I can agree with this. Pretty sure I could binge on some pineapple or bananas though. I do plan to eat some fruit occasionally as a snack when someone brings it in at work.

The troubling part is that he says that people 500 years didn't eat fruit in the winter and we didn't go extinct so therefore not eating fruit can't be that bad.

This shows that he has the critical thinking abilities of a brain dead wasp.

These are my vice. I eat almost a pack a day ~115 cals of sugar.

Airbnb/Poker weekends are definitely +EV. That's my move too. Do you compete in Powerlifting or just looking to get stronger in general?

I'll make Friday my weight in day even though I hope Saturdays will be even lower before cheat day.

3/24 223.4

Good to bust through the plateau.

Also ordered another smaller belt, which is kind of a beat because I like $98 Allen Edmonds belts.

I've just done the one meet in September 2015. I'll probably do another one in a few months, finances were a bit tight for this April WABDL meet in the Dells that several people from my gym are going to.

Last Saturday cheat day.

Black beans and protein in the morning. Pulled pork and brisket sandwich on a big cibbata bun with a side of waffle fries(large portion) at the bar poker tournament. Went to a birthday party I had a couple servings of chips with guac, 1 piece of homemade pizza, maybe 15 cubes of cheese, 2 slices chocolate cake. Then late at night had 1 plate of chinese food. ordered 2 things(shrimp lo mein &mongolian beef) but shared with someone, she made each of us a normal sized plate and we threw ~25% of it out.

Drinking I had 5 whiskey diets and 1 12 oz Moon Man Pale Ale

Sunday rebounded well, didn't do any cardio but held off eating until noon or so and kept it to about 1500 calories. Was feeling unmotivated but still got to the gym at night after the basketball games.

Tuesday night I had a practice for an improv show at a team members house. Didn't have time to eat a full dinner so I ate a quest bar on the way, 2-3 cups of fruit, 1 cup of skinny cow popcorn, 10 of those veggie chips cause MLYLT log had me curious. Both of those snacks should have been 50 cals each max. There were these chocolate covered cookie things a little bigger than a quarter in diameter and about the height of a rolo. I had one on the way out. That was prob 50-80 on its own. Think I made out ok on cals despite the cheating but I was a bit hungrier this morning

Here's how I did at my potluck lunch at work. We had multiple types of cookies, cookie cake, punch, 3 bags of chips that O skipped among other things.

The missing portion of the bigger plate was salad with a sugar free balsamic dressing. I only ate part of the sloppy Joe mix cause I didn't like it. The thing with one tater tot was ground beef, cream of mushroom soup and green beans.

This is a upper Midwest thing I believe. Quite common in Wisconsin potlucks.

3/31 Weight 223.4. same as last week.

Maybe every other weigh in will be good? Hopefully just water weight fluctuation from eating unusual foods yesterday & general randomness on the scale. I did probably only have a few hundred calorie deficit, and also weighed 223.4 Thursday morning.

Also a low activity week for me due to watching March Madness and poor weather. Hoping the volleyball pickup game goes Saturday. I only play sand because of my knees.

According to others who have done the Slow Carb Diet, only the last 2-3 weighins before that day are supposed to be lower than the previous week.

I bought a new belt at the next size down(36). I'm only on notch 2 out of 5 so hopefully I can make some progress there.

Kinda split my cheating up this week

Friday I ate well but drank 375ml captain morgan, 1 johnny walker black on the rocks, 1 old fashioned, and 2 cans of Blatz. Luckily I drank instead of eating at night and ate a little less than usual during the day so it wasn't too bad. Group bought a few round of cheese curds and I was able to hold it to one curd despite being drunk.

Saturday I only had one beer in terms of drinking, but ate badly. I had beans, eggs, and turkey sausage for breakfast in the morning. A Clif bar and 240 cal chinese mango drink during volleyball. Some trader joe snacks I brought from work after volleybal ~500 cals total.

dinner I split cheese curds, a russian reuben and pork tenderloin special.I had a side of bisque and the sweet potato fries that came with my sandwich mostly to myself. Then we got pie and I had half of two pieces(1 total). I was stuffed after that. Had about half a 3.5 oz fat free butter popcorn during basketball for the taste and threw the rest out.

No cardio on sunday but I ate a few less calories than usual.

Monday I might be a bit high since I went to a Greek place for lunch with coworkers. Got a greek salad with greek vinaigrette dressing and a good amount of feta cheese. Ate 1/4 of the 5/4 pita they gave me, prob no more than 100 cals. Didn't need to eat until dinner but I'm hungry and having a bigger one.

Weight 222.8

Still plateauish. The first month went well, and I think I can give it another month at <1 pound a week before I have to limit the cheat days. I've made a bit of progress on my smaller 38" belt; I fit into the last notch easily and would almost use the 6th notch if the belt had one.

I do plan to tighten up a bit. Think I've been eating when not entirely necessary on the non cheat days, and snacking more than I have to on the cheat days. I'll space out my meals similar to how I did in my big weight loss thread, and try to keep it to a few big meals on cheat day, even if they are 2k cals.

Although if this is what maintenance looks like, it doesn't seem too difficult.
