Go straight to single malt scotch. Branch out to bourbons later. Glenlivet is a good suggestion.

Is something like Glenlivet newb-friendly, or more of an acquired taste?

the only change in my lifestyle is reduction in calories, which is why i think thats the reason. also it happens to me almost every time i diet and almost immediately when i start.
eat more bananas

Eh, rum is easier than whiskey if you don't like the taste. I don't think many are going to like the taste of straight whiskey right away, but it's worth figuring out how to like it imo.

whisky

Imma put a peat bog in your Christmas stocking.

I assume the bananas were recommended for potassium. But don't rule out sodium deficiency either. I remember back in the day my older brother used to get lots of cramps during swim practice when he sweat lot, and he fixed it by adding salt to his water bottle.
04-04-2013 , 10:12 PM
Add a shot of islay single malt scotch to the bottle to make sure you get your iodine.

Yeah don't know what this is. But my dad is into good scotch. Has some nice glenmorange or whatever it's called. 18 yr I think. From before they got bought out by some french company or something. Can't stand it. Makes me hate it.

Gin, on the other hand.

cooking newb question: roasting some potatoes on a standard baking pan. I greased the pan with some oil prior, plus the taters have a coating of oil. but still i get a little stickage. Should I be using a baking sheet? I'm worried that would take away the nice crusting.
