It's petty brutal, takes a lot of the fun out of running...I've slowed my pace down quite a bit the last few weeks. Just gotta make it to September when the weather cools down.

The weather was soooo much better Thursday morning. I got out early and was feeling great so I decided to do a second long run this week. Ended up going 9 miles and felt like I could've gone further...crazy what a difference 10 degrees and lower humidity makes.

Long run Tuesday...I was feeling good even though it was pretty miserable outside, lots of humidity. I changed my route from a straight out and back to several shorter "laps" so I could hit the water fountain more often.

I ended up getting 11 miles in...I feel like that's pretty close to my limit right now in these conditions.

Got out late around 7 pm to do an easy run...less than a mile in the storm clouds came racing in and I had to turn back and cut it short at 2 miles. The second mile was fast because I was trying not to get drenched.

No big deal this is a recovery week so my mileage is gonna be lower anyway.

Day 314

Got out early Saturday to do my fast run for the week. The goal was to run a mile in 7:40 or less to win a small prop bet. I started with a one mile warm up then rested a couple minutes before attempting the fast mile.

I started out great and was really close to the pace for the first half of the split. I started to get winded though and it was just too humid to maintain that pace. Coming to the end I knew I wasn't gonna hit the goal but I still desperately wanted to break 8:00...thought I was there but when I paused the app and checked the split time it was 8:01. Still my fastest mile and I know under ideal conditions I could be much faster.

I finished with another easy 3 miles and felt fine after. Not sure if I'll be able to attempt this again before the end of the month. I've got a really busy week ahead...pretty big life change coming up in the next month, I'll share the details soon.
