Aidan,

If you're not strapping a 5 lb DB to your operated leg in order to replace the lost LBM, you're cheating on your chins imo.

Das Boot weighs at least five pounds

One month surgeon appointment was this morning. All looking very good, can point my toes slightly against pressure so it looks as if the tendon is healing nicely. Full on rehab with a PT starts tomorrow, but cleared for some exercises. Still in the boot for nearly all activities (except sleeping, showering and rehabbing).

I hope the wife has been providing you with the appropriate amount of sympathy and assistance, because mine sure wouldn't be.

Excellent news!

Random question: now that you have the boot, are you still able to get leg drive when you bench press?

Not really. The boot has a rounded bottom which makes it difficult to drive downwards, and to avoid getting too lopsided i have to ease off with the other leg as well.

Aidan - I forget who it was, either mburke or DFII, recommended doing floor press after I get my surgery to take the leg drive out of the lift. I very likely may do this, so I just wanted to share the info.

I am confused as to why you stick to LRB for bench. You been benching 215x1 for over a year !!!

This reminds me of the donk with the jellydick squat who refused to squat three times a week and instead did leg presses and leg extensions. We all know where his squat is currently at.

Time to move on good sir. This is the perfect time for that bench to get to 225x5 and to officially say goodbye to an upperbody that lives in two dimensions.

Nice. Sounds like a plan. I brought it up because as I was reading the material you sent me I came up on the section on modifying the TM to have bench emphasis. And your 215x1 popped up in my head.

Thanks for the books bro. Looked it over again and really like the split template since I like going to the gym 4x a week. Unfortunately too noob to go straight into that, but hopefully next year.

Back from therapy. Not exciting really for a couple more weeks, but I have some basic exercises to do: scrunching a towel with my toes, swiping the towel from side to side, some active ROM exercises and drawing the alphabet in the air with my foot. PT said I was ahead of the curve, active dorsiflexion ROM was better than neutral, and general ROM was good. Tightest spot was actually inversion (right foot flat, turn it to the left).

Does he know about your 405 squats? Probably should have known you'd be ahead of the curve.

It didnt really come up, other than that I was doing some gym work before the injury as well as sports. Still can't get out of the boot sooner as a result, which is
