Re: Aidan's Training Log (just weak strongman)

Sunday:

Axle C&P:
80x3x3

Keg/Sand Bag Medley (~15m):
2rounds: 60, 80, 100kg sandbags, 60, 75, 90kg kegs.

Finished off with back and bi's. The axle is awful, zero rotation which means to go from belly to rack you have to fully release the bar. Definitely an interesting challenge.

Cheers, bro's. Hopefully I can restrain myself in training and keep up the rehab.

Shoulder rehab stuff too. First time deadlifting in a while, so keep it reasonably comfortable. A bit nervous about hurting my shoulders but they felt ok today.
I have always found that as long as I keep my shoulder blades pulled down and dont allow them to roll forward or up when I DL, DLing usually makes them feel better when I am rehabbing shoulder issues.

During this most recent rehab, I also found that when the shoulder is really bad, sumo pulling is easier on the shoulder than conventional because of the starting position arm angle. Your arms are a little more straight down with sumo, rather than a little more out away from your torso with conventional. Hopefully that made sense.

Re: Aidan's Training Log (just weak strongman)

That does make sense. I hurt the left one on a straight leg DL where I just let it get too far out in front (my shoulders wouldn't have been locked down properly either, just a sloppy rep). I didn't think of sumo as an option.

Rack pulls/block pulls would be another option.

Re: Aidan's Training Log (just weak strongman)

19th April:

100kg keg/310kg sled drag, ~13m
2 reps, plus a bunch of warmups

100kg sandbag carry, 30m
4 reps

Lat pull downs + incline biceps curl to finish.

Had a bit of spare time today, so went in to do some conditioning stuff, just get a feel for some of these events.

Re: Aidan's Training Log (just weak strongman)

20th April:

Deadlift:

145x6x3

Press:
50x8x3

Shoulder rehabs.

Feeling a bit flat and a bit short of time. Shoulder was ok on deadlifts, but still pretty light.

Re: Aidan's Training Log (just weak strongman)

25th April:

Log:
80kg for a couple of lousy singles
72.5kg EMOM for 10

Carry and Drag:
170kg sled + 120kg sandbag, 5 reps

Was feeling a bit pukey by the end of this, conditioning is pretty trash. Missed a session this week due to a work trip, so that's not helping much. Need to write up a program today and try to stick to it.

Tuesday

Deadlift (ss with abs):
150x5x4

Press (ss with rows):
60x5x4

Front Squat (ss with abs):
110x5x4

Curls, facepulls, band flies

Thursday

HBBS (ss with abs)
140x5x4

Push Press:
70x3x5

Keeping rest to 3:30, trying to get the conditioning up, focusing on accessories that get a bit of quad strength and core.

Re: Aidan's Training Log (just weak strongman)

2nd May:

Truck Pull:
Worked up to a few runs of 250kg with the rope.

Log:
80kg x1
72.5kg x3x3

Atlas Stones:
140x1
150xf

Feeling a bit fatigued given last weeks training. Got the 150kg stone almost up and the 140kg was the fastest single at it I've done, so making progress there. Conditioning leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Aidan's Training Log (just weak strongman)

4th May

Deadlift (ss w/ ab rollouts)
220x1
180x5x3

Press (ss w/ db rows):
62.5x6x3

Front Squat (ss w/ obliques):
100x5x3

Facepulls, curls and band flies.

Really nice session, 220 was slow but not max and I was glad it was still there.
