An 87kg minimum log is triggering. I feel that the #nattyrealities #theyarebeautiful crew needs a safe space from that log.

Viking Press:
60x5x10 EMOM (did 10 last set)

Cable Rows, Bicep Curls


Both my buddy and I were dragging through this session. The smaller log is more difficult to clean, but easier to press than the larger log, but we both ended up with lower than anticipated worksets.

My shoulder is better, but the strained lat is still sore. Got given a massage gun for xmas, so maybe that's helping a little. Hopeful it will come right, I can't do any vertical pulling until it does.

It mostly looks good but your heels are coming off the ground. I don't think thinking about weight on heels would fix it though, because that would kick your knees back, and they're already the right amount of forward. Probably just need to lean less with torso.

Your heels come up a little, as Renton noted. I actually think you could benefit of sitting back just a bit further, so you feel the weight right through the center of your foot. Looks great otherwise. If I couldn't see your heel, I wouldn't have noted anything at all.

Thanks, dudes. I think I need to stretch my calves a bit more and keep working thoracic mob/strength.

Missed a day due to the little one having some sort of 24hour vomiting bug. Booked in to see someone about my shoulder later in the day, and off to the beach camping for the week next week so just did things that don't aggravate my shoulder.

Physio said it was a minor strain in the rotator cuff, specifically infraspinatus. Gave me a few minor rehab exercises to try and massaged a bit. He didn't think there was anything major wrong, so hopefully this gets it heading in the right direction.

Also doing some shoulder rehab exercises, the toughest of which is a Sots press with a broomstick. Also includes a couple of wall slide exercises and some reverse planks. Just trying to get some more balance to my shoulders.

DB curls, Facepulls.

Bench press bothers my shoulder in unracking the bar, but coming up from the knees with DBs is fine. Just trying to work around it, slow progress.

Shoulder issue is improving, but still not 100%. Working around it as best as I can, did 140x3x3 front squats today and some accessories.

14th Feb:

Still doing a bit of work, right shoulder is feeling decent. Unfortunately twinged my left shoulder in almost the exact same muscle doing some stiff leg DLs, and more or less back to square one, just on the opposite side.

Cheers, dudes. Its frustrating but not the end of the world, its not really affecting day to day life.

Yeah, we went into 3 days of lockdown today. I reckon this'll be longer as it appears to be the UK strain and no source as yet, and it is possibly in a school.

Well a decent result at least, lockdown was only 3 days and appears to have worked. Back to relatively normal life here. Shoulder still being a bit less than 100%, but improving.

SSB Squats:
125x8x5

Log:
70kgx1, EMOM for 10 mins

Sandbag carry:
80kg for max distance (approx 130m, 1:48)

Welp, not much posting. Slow improvement in the shoulders, right one feels 99% fine, left one is getting better. A bit depressing, so it goes.

My wife competed for the first time today, at a log and deadlift comp. Got 46.5kg log and 120kg deadlift so she was pretty stoked. I spotted and loaded, it was taxing. Witnessed a 380kg deadlift, which was special.

So I'm still alive. Still being bugged by an injury in my left shoulder/lat, which is slowly improving. Trying to lift around it has been quite demotivating, but I had a decent session on Sunday.

Sunday:

Log:
Up to 90kg x1, which ties a PR.
85kg x2
75kg x3x3

Stones:

Up to 140kg, which was great as I've not touched them since December. Managed to break 150kg off the ground, but still work to do there.

Tuesday:

Front Squat:
110x5x4

Press:

50x8x4

Good Morning:

100x5x4

Bunch of shoulder prehab rehab stuff. Feeling a bit sore today as a result of increasing the volume, but a good sore. So I signed up for King of the Stones in July. Have some catching up to do, but would be nice to hit a 150kg stone in a few months. Need to do some research on what gets me there best.

Shoulder rehab stuff too. First time deadlifting in a while, so keep it reasonably comfortable. A bit nervous about hurting my shoulders but they felt ok today.
