Yeah this guy is quickly catching up to my bench (maybe already did). If I were not regulated to sets of 10 reps, I would leave him in the dust. But now it looks like I'll have to sneak in a set of 205 tomorrow to keep him at bay.

I'm just picturing Aidan with a picture of loco on the ceiling of his gym so he can psyche himself up before he benches. Maybe with a big Ghostbuster's style red circle and slash right through his grill.

Definitely the other way around. We weigh about the same but he is like minimum 1.5X times stronger in squat/deadlift. All I have left is my bench and he is about to take it over. I need to do something.

Yeah, its painful to bend it more than 30 degrees under a load (even my own bodyweight). Walking is fine, stairs are not.. Feels better than the weekend, hopefully it clears up.

The upside is i can focus on some more upper body exercises, and hit that 185 for reps which will feel like an achievement...

August 1st: Recovery

Press: 115x5x3

Tricep Pushdowns: 65x8x3

Farmers Walk: 90sx50ydsx4trips

Well, looks like all my workouts are going to be recovery for a while. Bending my knee with any sort of load is painful eg walking up stairs, and occasionally when trying to rotate. Started the process to get a referral back to the ortho. Pretty ****ing bummed out.

You're right, it's totally different in countries with UHC

I wouldn't know, I have no insurance and I have not gone to the doctor in 8 years in USA#1. But if there something wrong with me, I would want to be seen within 7 days max or I would throw a big fit.

Here in Panama it costs like $10 a visit to go to the doctor. I guess it maybe it might $30 if I were to find a specialist. Obviously would not trust them for some major surgery, but perfectly fine getting MRIs/scans/xrays or whatevers.

Fair enough, having to wait three weeks seems a bit on the long side to me, but it's not a compound fracture or anything, just a PT referral.

As an aside, my wife runs a plastic surgery practice, and they are scheduled out pretty far in advance. I would expect that's true for most, if not all specialists, but I could be mistaken; this likely has a fair bit to do with the lead time issue.

Three weeks isnt too bad, certainly faster than my father got to see an ortho in NZ through the public system. In my case I had the existing contact, so that shaved plenty of time off from having to see the primary care guy (who i booked months ago for a september appointment for an unrelated checkup). Its a university system...
