12th June: Starting Strength Week 1 Day 2

Squat:
82.5x5x2, x8x1

Bench Press:
62.5x5x2, x8x1

Deadlift:
102.5x8

I also chucked in some lat pulldowns and calf raises. DOMS pretty bad, but if it is endurable, endure it.

Re: enduring the endurable, in the past few days I have been trying to note when I complain and instead... you can probably guess, I do not complain. Even internally. It's not a bad exercise. gl.

Squat:

Bench Press:
65x5x2, x10x1

Deadlift:
105x9

Cable rows and calf raises to finish. Should probably add some curls in too. Squats are feeling the most difficult.

17th June: Starting Strength Week 2 Day 1

Squat:
87.5x5x2, x9x1

Bench Press:
67.5x5x2, x10x1

Deadlift:
107.5x9

Circuit of hammer curls, lat pulldowns and calf raises to finish of. Feeling a bit of impingement in my left hip, so I need to remember to do some stretching on off days on that flexor and quad.

Deadlift:
110x9

Finished off with some rows and calves. Getting along alright, squats felt a bit better grooved today.

Deadlift:

Snuck in while the others were sleeping, so no accessories. It slowly feels as if the mechanics are coming back. Still losing tightness in the upper back on bench, I think it is fatigue.

A bit slow moving through the workout today, a few of the team are back from Canada so was catching up with them.

These thursday's are the toughest to make, always busy by the end of the week plus tired. Made it in this time though.

1st July: Starting Strength Week 4 Day 1

Squat shoes mysteriously missing from my shelf at the gym, which is annoying. They stayed there for close to a year without going for a walk, disappeared sometime between thursday night and sunday morning. Finished off with belt squats, curls and prone rows.

What kind of work are you doing these days? Is it still lab, research, etc.? Any way you could follow the Monte approach and lift during lunch or something to make sure you get the sessions in? I would love to do that if I could, but it's logistically impossible for me.

only a few weeks in, but doing OK so far. How's your little one doing?

Ours is going down pretty consistently about 6:30pm, waking twice over night to feed and up between 6:30 and 7:30am. Not crawling yet but not far away.

I've considered this but would have to juggle some stuff around. Would be a bit of a pain and not necessarily easier to stick to a schedule.

Did some meadows rows, calf raises and curls to finish off. Still no shoes so I squatted in flats. Didnt feel great.

old. Though admittedly the small kids part of the problem is probably way worse than the old part. And iirc you're not even old, even by 2010 2+2 standards (2005 though!).

5th July: Starting Strength Week 4 Day 3

Deadlift:
135x10

My shoes turned up, whcih was nice. Still feeling squats and deads are going well, but the bench has started to slow down. Did 2 sets of 7 BW chins and some other crap, should probably systematize this stuff. One month in, only the one missed session so very happy overall.

8th July: Starting Strength Week 5 Day 1

Squat:

Bench Press:
90x5x2, x6x1

Deadlift:
140x10

Videoed for the first time in a while, deadlift form was a bit ****. Will have to be a bit more consistent with that, conventional setup was all over the place. Bench is feeling ok through. Nice progress on squats. Did some concentration curls and cable rows.
