The meet is an official APA sanctioned and run meet. Its an open entry one, so novices enter as well. All out of province refs.

I'm about 9th or 10th in Wilks, maybe lower. John just scored a 475 today (230-160-265 @74) and is in first. We have a couple of women at 400+.

The DL miss, you were staring at the floor and were way out in front of it. Stay back and keep your chest up and you'll get that.

Yeah Quite a few technical things to work on. Kind of tempted to go back to conventional for a bit. Dunno...

Haha yeah... opportunities missed all over the show. The good news is I think I've found my mojo a little bit, got some new goals which should help me going forward.

10th November:

So Im volunteering with school first VX just helping out with their off season strength coaching (not programming), so I did a light workout with the team on thursday am: squat up to 160x4 and then two sets of 140, and some overhead press. My press technique sucks and I am weak at it. Fun to share some knowledge though.

Some pretty sick verticals. I think I need to recalibrate my strength expectations, but a couple of underfed 16yo squatting 100+ for reps seems pretty solid.

Ive never seen that. A few at the gym had failed at one of the seams (I suspect because the thread gets nicked when people out them on and they eventually unravel).

So the goal is to really crush a 600+ total at 83kg next April at Auckland Championship. In the short term Im going to be looking at really controlling the rest periods and not letting it drift out too far like I often do, and get the overall amount of work done up without spending more time in the gym. Weekend session will be three lift day, i'll squat + accessory before work on tuesday and thursdays and find time to get in for bench work once a week. Swings on off days. Not quite sure how I'll handle the progression/programming yet, need to do some research.

I'll also be taking a closer eye on my food, basically I've been snacking way too much and drinking too much (not too excess, but a beer a day). Need to get protein levels up and really try to take a bit more control over things.
