Yeah, Im not sure. Im tempted to try out Paul Carter's ebook which should be coming out soon (including programs). I wasnt hugely impressed by the first part of the TM ebook, I'll wait a while to see what others say about the 2nd part before deciding.

Parks and Recreation bro, and until you catch up at least on some episodes you are banned from this thread

You probably won't be too happy when I tell you I watched 3 episodes then stopped. I was not particularly amused. I dunno, I don't like that style of comedy very much.

That's unfortunate, I'd say you're missing out!

Squeezed in a two mile jog with my wife yesterday evening for some conditioning work, as my conditioning blows goats.

June 13th: Deadlift Day 2

Deadlift: 350x5
Klokov Press: up to two singles of 105
Press: 95x5, 125x3
Kroc Rows: 65 x 20
Chinups: BWx5x3
Back Ext: BWx20x3
Tricep pushdowns: 80x12x3
Farmers Walks: 50s, 5x40yd trips w/ 30sec rest

Deadlift's were solid, only used straps for the last rep. Definitely like ME deadlifts on its own day... But my back and grip are hella weak, so plenty to work on there. Threw in some random exercises whilst helping my wife with her bench press and squats. She squatted 135x5x3 very nicely, though I think I was more excited than her.

TM Advanced ebook is much much better than the first

I thought the first book was fairly good as well. Of course, I haven't actually done TM so that doesn't count for much, lol. Weasel, is the advanced book worth getting for someone just starting TM or only for advanced guys?

Flicking through it now, i guess TM1 was better than I thought. Re-reading it would have answered some of my previous questions that HS/Myles helped with on the previous page, so i'll be re-reading it in full again tonight. I guess i'll buy the advanced one soon as well.

I really like the Texas Method so far, but I plan to do a bit of a review at the end of this month to look through my notes and try and gauge progress for the various lifts and see what tweaks need to be made. Probably should have done this before making tweaks though

. It's worth getting for someone jus starting tm if they like reading or thinking about programming. The actual programs might not be useful but it can't hurt to have more ideas on programming. Plus it has a 4 day split tm which a new person on tm could use

15th June: Deadlift Day 3

Squat: 350x5, 315x5, 275x5
Bench Press: 192.5x3, 192.5x1x2 (paused singles)
Chin Up: BW+25x5x3
Shrugz, bicepz and tricepz to finish off

Not looking forward to squatting tree fiddy for five sets of five after that, but happy with the bench PR. Will move up on the chin ups next time, either in weight or reps.

No vids or 405x5, you say? Have some Ron Swanson

They weren't too bad at all. Straight up, no sticking, pretty good bar speed. Didnt rest overly long between them either.

Aidan, between squat progress and nutrition posts you've gone up 10x in my book, I'd just LOVE to see more upper body progress. What's the deal? You're polarized in a very different way than I am, and I'm somewhat curious how this happens.

Haha, yeah. I guess it should read "Deadlift Week, Day 3", squats as recovery from DE and ME deads earlier in the week.

You and me both!!

Since the start of the year, my bench has only moved from 165x5x3 (and only from 150x5x3 since the middle of last year) to the recent 192.5x3. This seems very little to me. I do not know in what proportions to blame the program or my application. I have just found bench progress very hard to come by. If i hope to do this meet, I will have to make more of a concerted focus on bench over the next few months.

I think my technique is fine, if not 100% consistent yet. But it is consistent enough for me to make small changes to things like foot positioning etc and assess whether that made things better or worse.

I did start very weak in the upper lifts after never working out previously. However, plenty of people make much better progress than I did on SS starting from similar positions. I have also neglected back work far too much over the last few months.

I enjoyed the "Stop Bitching and Start Benching" series on C&P, makes it pretty clear how often and heavy the great bencher's bench, and how much accessory work they do. I just need to be a bit more of a mad scientist, do some research and experiment.

I feel the same way, obv to a lesser extent. My squat and deads progress pretty much everytime, and I can't bench to save my life.

Interesting. Well experiment away, and post some vids too!
