I can't really see how thick you are cause no side profile shots, but you look a lot smaller than 168, even at 5'9". But given your squat you probably have big hamstrings, which doesn't really come out at the photo angles you used.

I can also see how your squat is basically 2x your bench. Your vanity muscles are definitely lagging behind your "functional?" muscles (I guess it depends on high you define functional as you are a white collar worker)

Keep in mind that is much less than half his 1RM. At this weight (relatively) cardio capacity and boredom probably become more of an issue than muscle fatigue or general discomfort.

Yeah, hopeful this program with some high rep accessories will help vanity muscles a bit. Time to put some focus on them.

those 5x10 sets are indeed killer; it takes a while to get used to the short rest period for sure.

5x10x185 is a medium term goal of mine; you'll be up to 5x10x225 in no time i'm sure

You're right, I should be able to advance them pretty quickly. I'd love to hit 315x20 sometime.

His legs are pretty big and his upperbody makes loco look like Ronnie Coleman. Based on how much weight he's putting up in the different lifts, the story seems to check out.

No good angles of dat ass imo. I look at KC's lower body nudez and go "god damn, son, 4 plates incoming" but....and I'm not saying it need to be an issue, but yours don't scream "jfc" to me. But your strength does.

I agree, especially compared to KC. I did weigh the plates/bar at LA fitness out of concern, they did check out though. I dunno. Kinda disheartening, despite never really training for aesthetics, but to pick up barely any aesthetics in a year of lifting is pretty poor. I don't look like I can bench 135, let alone 210.

Need to get my nutrition in order, probably my biggest leak at the moment.

Better nutrition and 3x10 elbows flared Dumbell Bench would solve those chesticles.

And its not like you are going to tear a pec by using 50s. That's probably what you might start off with. Obviously once you get to 100s, you may want to stop doing elbows flared. And you also want to take care of your rotator cuffs by doing some work.

My pecs are so decent looking these days I am actually looking to avoid slamming them as much (by going to powerlfiting bench). I never thought I would say that since they were very crappy a while back. But nope, the legs and the back are the big problem now. I took some nonflexed pictures of my back today and it was a disappoint. A disappoint. Maybe I will post in my log.

Is there even a difference between 135 and 210 though? The wise and venerable KPC once said something along the lines of, if it isn't 2 plates does it even matter?

I even lifted today.

15th February Phase 1 Week 1 Heavy Back:

Snatch: up to 95lbs
Clean: 175x1 (lots of fails at that weight too fml)
Deadlift: 5-4-3-2-1-1-1 ending with 320lbs
Chinups: BWx7, +10x5, +25x5, +45x3
Bicep Curlz: 45x10x3

Meh. Oly lifts were way harder than they should have been. Snatch was embarrassing. Such a pussy on the cleans, lots of fails at weight that should be manageable. Deadlifts were light, rushed for time so crammed through accessories fast. Glad to be back at it after the storm though.

Shrugz: 155x10x5 one min rest
Dips: 15, 10, 8, 7, 6
Pullups: 2x5
