I did too bc I wanted something to do other than make it up as I go but I didn't even consider doing that. Wednesday's are always some dumb endurance thing like that for xfit classes so they know what they're getting into.
Most of the best non-coach xfitters switched over to the oly programming at the start of the last cycle. Apparently they were complaining about lack of volume and with this new one the head coach is trying to murder us all. I am down though, I like high reps and need to get stronger
Today was a planned rest day. Not down with this changing **** up without showing the planned cycle tbh.
Snatch dls pulls and snatches working on form
Bench 185x5,5,8
Skull crushers ezcurl+35sx8x3
Very happy with that bench after all the shoulder work Tuesday. I usually do bench as like a 4th exercise tho so maybe a wash. Kinda bouncing too much even for tng, but not terrible.
I weighed 189 the past 2 days. Might have to do a slight water cut for the meet bc ill prob keep gaining weight with this level of volume. It should be good practice and not very hard, I can't imagine being over 191-192 in 2 weeks
This is facking hard mentally and physically. I weighed 186.5 after lifting so i should be fine as long as i eat around maint and then do my water manipulation. Back squats were mostly locked in, front squats deteriorated a bit on last 2 reps or so of all 3 sets.

Reason: These vids are taking a ridiculous amount of time to load wtf
Those are some oly looking squats. Smooth and easy. Nice.
Although just for the sake of being annoying, I'm going to throw it out here that your torso is also less upright on your ascent than it is on your descent on those later reps. You should feel bad and BTM thinks you're capable of doing better.
Pretty pissed at failing some push presses. I find high reps of them very hard to maintain technique while not taking so long between reps that i tire myself out from holding the rack position. I try to string them together and get woefully out of position or stop between each rep and get tired. Not really worried about it, a sick pump was had and i felt wide when flexing in the gym bathroom mirror
I tried out some band laterals but the ones i could find were too strong
Pretty beat today so it was good to work up to projected opener no misses and then hit 80. CnJ I just had 0 leg strength.
All the coaches w any wl experience are going to be out of town next week. I need to figure out counting attempts at the meet because I dont know what Im doing.
**** quality vid bc my buddy texted it to me but it has slo-mo
Thanks, the last month or so a lot of stuff started to slightly make sense
Dl 235x10x3 straps last 2
Rack below right below knee 285x5x3 straps
bb row 185x8, 165x8x3
random back ext and pullups
Deadlifts were super easy. I think concentration on getting my back tight for cleans and snatches has had a positive impact on my upper back tightness in deadlifts.
I have never done rack pulls before. I thought they would be easy bc shorter range of motion but theyy were very hard. I think i slightly strained my right erector
This was really hard and my left hip flexor was hurting after I did it. Basically stopped after this. Im not too worried about it, just gonna hit some snatches and cjs tomorrow and Thursday and try to be 100% for Saturday.
Weigh in is at 1030, lifting at 1230. This is pretty optimal I'd say. I was 185 today, I'm not too worried about making weight but I might do a minor water cut just to see what it's like
I didnt upload 90 bc it looked exactly the same. Seems decent. The jerk will need to be better if I want to hit 105+ though. More pushing body down less bar up is a key thought for me
My weigh in was at 1030 session started at 1230. I did a minor water cut just for fun the last 4 days before the meet and weighed in at 84.0 with clothes +shoes np. Immediately ate some rotisserie chicken, 8 or so chicken nuggets and 2 bananas plus 1.5 G2s. Then just jammed out to some music and went to the bathroom a couple times before heading back in.
I did all the stretching+ foam rolling I usually do when I got in there and was done at like 12. Here was the first mistake, I started warming up at like 1205. Lol. I was middle of the pack of the session and there were 2-3 guys that took all 3 attempts before me. I think I ended up working up to 65 by 1223 before realizing this was way off.
Took a pee, calmed down and started working back up from 60. I had decided to hit my opener as a warmup just for optimal confidence. It wasnt hard but I wasnt feeling super fast in general. I was a little nervous but not bad honestly. Nowhere near my first varsity high school tennis match where I absolutely choked in a meaningless match against a scrub lollllll. Anyway I hit that easy but then there were probably 6-8 attempts between this and my next lift.
As I walk out on the platform starting to psych up the front judge decides the facking collars are too loose. First off IDGAF i rarely even snatch with collars in the first place. THEN he takes like 30s+ as Im already on the platform to readjust these by himself. Shouldn't be an excuse but I was def out of the zone. As I walk off my friend convinces me to bump to 81 both because I can easily hit it and to get more time.
I went back and hit 78 shakily before my attempt at 81. I was able to rev myself up a bit and pull hard and make it. I think having hit 84 before made a difference in my confidence in coming back to hit this. I really wasn't nervous at this point.
Drank the rest of G2 number 2 and ate a banana before CJ. I actually timed this warmup pretty well, plus I like longer rests between attempts anyway. 95 was easy as fack. No vid but it looked exactly like the one i posted a few days ago Im sure. At this point I was feeling confident so I went 101. This was so I wouldn't be at the whim of every other lifter at 100 changing attempts or missing or whatever. People really like taking round numbers apparently.
The second attempt the clean was **** and i touched my elbow to my knee, which is supposed to be a red light. As I stood up I thought i heard some girl to my right yell nonononono like calling for a no lift. I just dropped it, no reason to waste energy right. In retrospect/listening to the vid it might have been upupupup cheering tho and the judges def didnt notice/care so lol me.
I bumped 1 kilo to get some extra time. The clean was better and I stood it up easy. Pretty much did exactly what I said I needed to not do. Push yourself under not the bar up. O well, kinda hurt my shoulder too.
If anybody managed their way through that wall of text some random observations.
I was sweating ridiculously bad, shouldve brought a towel. Combo of nerves/excitement I guess.
Having a coach/handler I thinkwould make a big difference.
On one hand I wash I had tapered for this for the past 3 weeks instead of doing the BB stuff. Im pretty sure I would have pred or tied them.
I talked to my coach today. He seemed really happy I competed and told me I did the right thing not tapering or cutting weight. Basically told me don't worry about your numbers in comp until you back squat 500 lol.
Overall I am happy I did it and will do some more in the future but it was honestly not that fun. The environment is stale/quiet and super high stress. I legitimately understand John North's gripes about weightlifting comps as scary as that sounds.
Klokov 90x10,9,7
Press 120x3x5 or 6 lost count, 2
Pp 145x8,8,7
Laterals + holds
Hanging knee raises
Gonna start trying to gain weight again. maybe do a little more cardio and eat more eggs and less ice cream so I can gain less fat. Not sure if it will work lol
The blaha part cracked me up hard fur sure. I guess jason singing my sacrifice as the base of it was pretty good too. I actually think I like the last one better though.
Im assuming you've prepped the masturbatorium for the jen ice bucket challenge in drm 100?
