after more consideration I def feel like that picture is wrong.

Pc 240, 245x1x2, 235x1x3, 225x1x3
clean pull triples 295, 280, 265
clean dl triples 315, 300, 285
hang clean pull triples 260, 250, 240
row 195x 5,5,8
chins +45x3,3,7

pcs were still pretty easy actually, did them all EMOM or faster. I did 240 first just in case they were feeling hard

I've been looking at a ton of videos, it seems like it's more of a methodology thing.

Some dip more like they would initiate a frontsquat
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrB8ataYpq0

Others dip straight down into their knees
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oW_Vb11lVCg

I was told by my Russian online coach I should bend equally at hips and knees. That's why I suddenly noticed your dip. Carry on.

press 135x3x3

did db bench to try to not stress my wrist. Pretty happy with the #s but I went a little too ham and completely burnt myself out for press. was supposed to be 155 lol

Why don't you convince him to do it anyway? Is he pussying out?

Well mainly bc I don't really care. I was just down to do it bc it lined up nicely with the end of my training cycle.

He's not pussying out though he's actually doing a different meet tomorrow and obv it wouldn't make much sense to do 2 meets in 2 weeks

I was borderline gasping for air for a lot of this workout. Work capacity is total shiet after a month of 3x3s, shocker.

Also my inner thighs were looking like I visited syndroms dominatrix from our ghetto belt squat setup.

Don't listen to Syndrome. That is terrible advice.

Clearly you should BM 13x a week, then come back and affirm that it is a terrible idea.

Sweet jerks btw.

I'm not sure why you need to get disrespectful. There's a pretty clear difference in technique between bending knees only and breaking at both hips and knees. The ass will go slightly backward, the same way you're initiating a frontsquat. That's all I was pointing out. I didn't know other one was also solid.

You're right. Advice by a novice without any real expertise or awareness who uses "lol" followed by a video of a woman doing partials is totally something that deserves a well thought out response.

Lets ignore the idea that "optimal" form actually exists exogenous of individual mechanics. Or maybe that there are a variety of different depths to jerk from as well. Or that differing levels of strength in the upper back and pushing tendencies will help inform how vertical we need to be.

Instead lets just ramble about ****ing optimal hip and knee angles. As if that is some sort of useful ****ing guideline.

Do you realize how dumb that sounds? I mean seriously.

(Oyah, lets forget you weren't even aware that knee only was the most common style among elite lifter.)

Jesus. I can't even.

There is some context where the syndrom info could be semi-correct. He is right that some people, klokov for example, bend at the hips a little on the jerk. Coupled with a very sharp dip like a lot of the elites have to take advantage of bar whip it doesn't sound entirely impossible. However as advice I think it's terrible. "Hey you should lean forward more when you jerk" is the exact opposite of what most people should be told. Or maybe it just got misunderstood in the Russian->english->2p2 tranfer .

evo the lsus will return soon enough. My issue is that my snatch and jerk technique are both "good enough" but my clean is not. And Lsus doesn't allow me to spend much time on improving it. I need to figure something out sooner rather than later so I don't keep ingraining bad movement patterns.

The only other consideration is bf%. I would prefer to be leaner than I am now and lsus doesn't jive too well with cutting.

I'm envisioning something like 4 sessions a day and banded front squats, your thoughts?

I agree with you, but that is like saying that bending your arms is good because Lu Yong does it and he can clean 200kg+. We're really digging deep for examples where his advice could be marginally construed as possibly correct, when in reality I think that the advice he is giving will cause people to have upper back cave, push the bar forward and lose a bunch more lifts that they'd make if they focused on cues that actually make sense.

What is lsus?

I never said you should lean forward and leaning forward would be terrible advice indeed.

You could really use some manners though. There's no need to be such a dick in between a group of buddies having a conversation about oly lifts.

unless you are referring to thremp in which case I agree. But I do think it's important to call people out if you think their advice is questionable.

That comment is even less informed than the ones before.

How exactly do I bend at the hip without leaning forward. Are we bending to the side? Backward?

Your comments are dumb, then when you were told they were stupid, you responded in a childish and idiotic manner, so I treated you like the fool that you behave like. If you want to have a reasonable adult conversation, don't post terrible advice followed by childish rebuttals that are silly. You quickly attempted to retrench to this moral highroad troll after you realized that your advice was blindlingly stupid, which makes me wonder why you even bothered to attempt to give it rather than phrasing it in a more adult manner like: "My coach advocates X. Some people do it like Klokov. What do you think?"

But I guess everything seems to be working out great for you with how you've been going, so w/e.
