So it has been a couple days since I updated. The labor day weekend is always the weekend of the biggest Baseball tourney of the year for me. Teams from 5 States meet in my hometown and usually play a double elimination tournament. The team I play for didn't make it this year, but the two teams from my league who did had a draft, and I was selected to play for one of the teams. Long story short, battling rain, messed up schedules, and 8am games, the team I was playing on ended up winning the whole thing. While playing 7 baseball games in 2 days is great for burning a ton of calories and acquiring quite a few sore muscles, being at a ball field from 7:30 in the morning till 7:30 at night isn't great for eating healthy, if you don't plan ahead accordingly. I did not plan accordingly. Frankly, I really didn't think the team I was playing on would do as well as we did and the rain meant I ended up being at the field a lot longer every day than I thought I would. the tournament's main field was at my team's home field and lets just say we have a very tasty concession stand lol. I had a blast this weekend though and between the concession stand, celebratory meals with the team. I ate a **** ton of bad food over the past 4 days. I will most definitely not be having a cheat meal this weekend coming, and maybe not even the one following, lol. I also have zero plans to step on a scale till maybe Thursday, have no desire to see how much extra water weight I am carrying around after all the trash I ate.

Bad eating aside, I can't imagine I am still not at a pretty large deficit for the weekend, playing every inning of 7 Baseball games burns quite a few calories and we won the whole thing! I will get back to regular weigh ins and logging now that baseball is completely done till next May.

Okay, time to get back to daily logging.

Day #39

Weight: 229.2
Change: +1.2
Overall Change: -13.2
Calories in: 1875
Exercise: Elliptical 30 mins
Water in take: Complete

Meal 1: Buffalo Chicken wrap on a Carb balance wrap
Meal 2: Home made Turkey Chili

Woke up and was disappointed to see I still hadn't dropped all the water weight I put on this past weekend from eating horribly for 4 days. Went to the gym and just did cardio. Only 51 days left, so need to get back on track here and stop slacking.

The last week has illuminated some issues that you should probably begin addressing. It looks like you're the type of person who gets discouraged as soon as he makes one mistake. To be clear, I'm not referring to the labor day weekend. I'm talking about the days after your 9/6 post. You had a challenge with your baseball thing, you more or less failed to overcome it, and that resulted in basically a week of continued diet non-compliance.

I'm not sure what the solution is, but I think for a start that you should commit to logging here every day, even bad days, even days where you don't even track your food at all. If you go through the back pages of this forum it becomes a graveyard of weight loss logs. It might be worth checking a few of them out, as they tend to end with a similar pattern. The person slips a little on something, doesn't log that day or the few days after, then shows up in a last ditch attempt and begins batch-logging; logging multiple days in retrospect. That becomes tedious as the accountability begins to pile up until he doesn't feel like making another batch log, then the log goes dark.

You just need more water bottles for your water I would think. If you just fill a gallon jug and try to drink it, you won't drink as much as having a few smaller water bottles that are always around. Just like you won't drink enough if you fill a cup from the tap.

Once you get use to being hydrated all the time you will never want to be even slightly dehydrated. The weird thing I find about hydration is that it is only a chore to drink water when you are dehydrated.
So then if you are dehydrated and trying to chug this gallon of water it just doesn't happen. By dehydrated I mean not optimal piss color.

Day #41

Weight: 227.5
Change: -1.5
Overall Change: -14.9

So with trying to get into more consistent daily logging, I am going to be logging my weigh ins every morning/when I sit down at my computer. I will attempt to update what I eat during the day each evening, but I end up forgetting a lot at night. Just trying different things out to see if they help with consistency.

I actually do have a gallon jug I fill up with water every night. I just need to start making sure I finish it each day, no excuses.

Its not so much that I get discouraged, as much as I just get lazy. I do agree that I need to make sure I log more consistently and make sure I get my full gallon of water in a day, as well as make sure I get more consistent exercise. I knew going into this that there were going to be ups and downs, and not just consistent drops, though i wish it were so lol. Just need to as you say, be more consistent.

Thanks! I know its mostly water weight, but it still feels good to see sub 230's every morning. Now, it will feel even better when I see sub 220's.

Day #43 Calories/Exercise

Calories in: 1277
Exercise:45 mins Elliptical
Water in take: Complete

Meal 1: Zucchini Pepperoni Pizza Casserole
Meal 2: Zucchini Buffalo Chicken Casserole

So, I was craving some pizza yesterday and decided to try and make some pizza with a zucchini based crust. After shredding up a ton of zucchini, and realizing I shredded too much, I decided to make a buffalo chicken one as well, since I had some shredded chicken still frozen, and I love buffalo chicken things. I was not disappointed with the outcome of either of them. They tasted delicious, and were extremely filling. I did cardio today and after eating sub 1300 calories, I am not hungry at all. I had actually planned on eating another meal today, but its close to bed time and I do not feel hungry at all. While its not something I will be eating regularly, because of the high fat content, despite using fat free cheese, and it being rather pricey. It was a great way to take care of a craving without cheating.

Nice work!! Any noticeable difference in the way your clothes fit? Have you had to tighten up a belt notch?

Day #44 Calories/Exercise

Calories in: 1500
Exercise:Walked around the local fair for 3 hours
Water in take: Complete

Meal 1: Zucchini Pepperoni Pizza Casserole
Meal 2: Smoked Brisket
Meal 3: Vanilla Ice Cream cone

I cant tell you how much of a pain it was to walk around the fair and not chow down on all the delicious foods around me. I was planning on going to the fair Friday and using it as my cheat meal, but couple friends wanted to go tonight as well, so I tagged along. I settled on some smoked brisket and then had a small vanilla ice cream cone. Friday I will enjoy all the delicious foods to my hearts content.

Thanks! For the first time in a while, I wore jeans last night, and they were very loose. Looks like I will have to go back to wearing 34 waist Jeans and hopefully retire the 36's for life. My shirts are a little bit tighter around my chest and shoulders and looser around my waist. It is a minuscule difference, but it is still noticeable in some of my tighter fitting shirts at least in fit wise for me.

So I just remembered looking over this that we are officially half way through. So, it seems I should write something up.

Almost 17lbs, not too bad. I know that these next 45 days are going to be quite a bit more difficult than the first 45, at least in regards to weight loss. Though possibly not, I still have a ways to go to reach my desired goal, post these 90 days. I still have quite a bit of fat around my love handles and thigh area. The goal minimum goal is to be at most 215 by October 29th. I figure 10.5lbs in a little over 6 weeks should hopefully, be rather easy to obtain. I do dream of reach 200 or 205, but that is most likely unreachable, at least in the next 45 days.

Plan for the next 45 days:

- get into a routine of lifting 3 times a week.
- some type of cardio the days I don't lift.
- continue drinking a gallon of water a day.
- on Oct 8th, reevaluate current status and possibly go on the The rapid fat loss diet by Lyle McDonald.
- continue to have the one cheat meal a week until Oct 8th, then reevaluate.
- continue daily logging of food and blogging.

Onward we go.
