another question, say I've got a 12 oz uncooked hunk of ny strip. If i'm counting calories on Fitday, how many ounces should I subtract (if any) after cooking etc? I've read 25% but that seems like a lot
Fitday lets you record the raw weight and it will give you the info for the cooked yield.

okay, so for "Beef, short loin, top loin, separable lean and fat, trimmed to 1/8" fat, prime, raw (a.k.a. Kansas City Strip, New York Strip, Club Steak)", that would factor in the cooking so I should just record it as 12 oz?

That's pretty unclear how they do the nitty-specific steaks. I like how they do chicken better in that all that preparation **** is detailed in the units column.

The one you selected seems to factor in cooking so I'd enter it as 12oz.

Isn't some of the weight of the steak lost as water when cooking?

Most Hollywood actors have elite professional nutritionists, tons of free time, and usually a decent plan. Then they take drugs. I'm sure with my meager genetics gifts 4g of Winstrol and Blade to qq to, I could manage to then get my stylist, lighting, and special effects guys to take care of what chemistry and mother nature couldn't.

Here is one of the most extreme examples. Christian Bale going from filming The Machinist to Batman Begins in a few months time (possibly a year, not too much longer than that)

Trolled northpark in BigD today looking for low-top chucks, found a bunch but they just didn't seem that stable to me, ended up finding a pair of Pumas for like $25 on clearance that look fairly ridiculous but should do the trick in the gym. There was a sick pair of Adidas for like $50 more but I jewed it up and decided to go with the Pumas.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

I'm pretty much done dieting, so people here can stop laughing at me for being tiny and losing even more weight. If I could go back and do anything differently I would have not kicked it off with an RFL. Yes I lost a lot of weight in ~2 weeks but the strength loss was also pretty significant. That, and doing UD2.0 at slightly too high bf% set me back ever so slightly. Oh, and it's ******ed and unnecessary, that too.

Before and after pics?

Failing that some stats on BF% change and LBM loss?

I'll do a write-up eventually, lost 45lbs, my rough calcs tell me 10 of that was lbm, I think that's an ok result. Waist from 42" to 32". BP/OHP 5rm dropped less than 10%, squat/dl/pc went up b/c I was able to improve form/mobility/injury issues that needed fixing.

Wow, 42" waist to 32" waist from 45 lbs of BW loss? I have a 38" waist (I wear 36" loose jeans from the Gap) and I doubt I'd go to 30" if I lost 45 pounds. Probably not even a 32".

Dude this is actually very impressive results. The fact that only 10lbs of 45 was lbm is excellent, the fact you lost so many inches off your waist is pretty sick. Lower body lists actually went UP? Kudos.

10/45 seems quite good to me. Definitely crushes my PSMF results.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

You'll just have to take my word for it, I measured it at 42" when I started and it's at 32" as of this morning, same measuring tape. I carry all of my fat in my love handles/lower back, kind of annoying.

eta: what I'm calling "waist" is at belly-button level.

Wow Spenda sick numbers! Well done!

I've shifted into eating on tje metabolic diet plan, now I just need to actually start dieting. Seeing stuff like that posted always gets me excited. 2 months till State PL comp, trying to drop a weight class and maintain strength seems like a good idea now.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

Starting to wonder about this BF% estimator:

http://www.freeweightloss.com/calculator1.html.

Lyle said it was "surprisingly decent" for him, as did some others on his forum, but he did not endorse it or anything.

It gives Miles 16.67% BF (at 255!). You have a bright future in bodybuilding imo.

I guess the issue is just different distributions of fat?

I know I carry my weight pretty much everywhere. I was up to 240 @ 5'7" without what I would call a particularly large gut. I'm currently about 215 and I've gone from a tight 38" waist to a loose 38" waist (my 36" pants are still too tight to wear). Its kind of sad really.
