Coors Light is legit. Also $1.
03-15-2010 , 04:39 PM
someone care to summarize the flaw in that 70sbig story? other than it is terrible
03-15-2010 , 04:40 PM
$1 and legit do not go together. coors light isn't that bad though.

in light of lyle/rip feud, i decided to read lyle's way-too-long, multi-part ice skating story that's been queued up too long in my google reader.

1) although he insinuates otherwise, he's kind of a bitter old man
2) although he tries to keep it reasonably short and well-paced, he fails rather miserably
3) otherwise a nice enough read
03-15-2010 , 04:44 PM
still 3-4 more parts ... yeah he seems very bitter.
03-15-2010 , 04:45 PM
Coors lite has cans figured out that's for sure
03-15-2010 , 04:46 PM
Ugh. I need to switch to Romanian deadlifts and start at a low weight. Regular deadlifts on a caloric deficit are just too much.

And my squat is suffering too. I'm squatting 55 lbs less than my 5 rep max, and I'm sore as hell for 2 days afterward.

Welcome to dieting qq.
03-15-2010 , 04:51 PM
It also doesn't help that I'm fat and 42 years old.
03-15-2010 , 04:52 PM
Coors light is probably the most drinkable cheap beer. But if I'm not shot gunning, beer bonging, or slamming it I put tomato juice or green olives in it or something.

I'll make some more H+F lolcats tomorrow and start a separate thread (smiley approved, of course)

The upside is that I've lost 6.5 lbs in the last 3 weeks.
03-15-2010 , 04:59 PM
Ok I'll hold off on the Coors Light hate. I am skeptical of all Light beers, the ones I've tasted (3) have all been crap.

MW,
how big is your deficit in % of maintenance?
03-15-2010 , 05:03 PM
I'm also having diet DL probs, not sure what to do about it. I feel like if I drop the weight to a point where I can maintain decent form it's not really heavy enough to maintain my strength.

"Pure strength matters more than everything else combined. Bob can deadlift 505 pounds. Steve can DL 510. What if they're both put on a death island and in order to get off the island you have to DL 507? Steve would live and Bob wouldn't.

This proves that being strong is the most important thing in day-to-day living."

Drop your expectations to something more reasonable then?

By no means does Coors Light taste "good." I am no beer aficionado and I do not drink beer to enjoy it. I drink it to smash beers.
03-15-2010 , 05:13 PM
Mortal, something is off, you shouldn't have lost that much weight off your squat and be having such bad recovery issues if you're only losing 2lb/week as a fatty.

It's not about ego or something, just trying to find a way of programming DL's that lets me maintain on a deficit. (E.g. partials and rack pulls.)

Switch to singles. High intensity, low volume. I can still pull 500 despite running a deficit and tons of cardiotarding. Pretty sure I would die if I was pulling sets of 5.

3x1? Considering std is 1x5 and volume is typically dropped.
03-15-2010 , 05:25 PM
Sure. I dunno. I just pull sets of 5 until it becomes marginally hard. Then I pull max singles. Because I kick ass. Even though my form is worse than derosnec's, I can still pull five hundy pounds. What a strong mfer I am.
03-15-2010 , 05:27 PM
Yeah until your back gives out, POW.

Uhh....anyway, I'm ******ed. Apparently pounding milk is way easier with a jar of PB on the side. Glugg glugg.
