awesome lolcat work, i've said it before but it's probably the one thing that isn't completely perverted/twisted that makes me laugh pretty consistantly...i'm a twisted dude with all other humor.

my gf has been talkin bout gettin an english bulldog, i'm trying to move her away from the idea cause they're just **** animals. Regardless i went to check out a litter near my house yesterday and they're obv cute 7 week old puppies. What shocked me though was that the father was 105 lbs and not fat. i looked it up and bulldogs r typically 53-55 lbs approx, he's literally double sized. I've never seen anything like it really.

like a grizzlybear bulldog kinda creature, i have a pic but there is nothing in it to give perspective to how big he was.....

this is a google image for giant bulldog and he was at least 20% bigger all around.

God bless you... this was exactly the reason I came in here this morning. I've been pretty disappointed though.

I mean seriously, smith machine squats with no depth? Looks like he was barely moving his legs on the leg press. All the other laughable material?

I have no doubt he's a nice/cool guy and have never met him, but I have lots of nice/cool friends that I still make fun of when they work out like tards at the gym.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

Ok, back injury question.

My brother hurt his back DLing with lol form about 4-5 months ago. The injury is basically on the left side of his lower spinae erectors, right above the pelvis. He's been to a manual therapist 3-4 times. The pain is better, but gets worse whenever he DLs (tried it two times). The pain is not acute and not extreme, he rates it as a 2 on a scale of 1-10 and a bit more after lifting.

Since it's an old injury now the Starr rehab protocol seems pretty useless. Anyone with a clue on how to improve this? Just say **** it and lift anyway? I'm tempted to go with the second option and keep going unless it gets worse. He's a bit paranoid of back pain since it "runs in the family".

I did some rudimentary trolling of the thread but obv it drowned in the general NVG ******edness.

As much as we love deadlifts and know that correctly performed they strengthen the back and core musculature and improve spinal health and protection, I think in a case where a specific movement causes acute internal pain, it should be avoided.

As for what to do, you have to figure out what is actually going on. Perhaps a full diagnosis from another therapist, or some detective work on your own. A full assessment may help, or figuring out what movements and ROM cause pain and what don't could yield clues (eg. conv deadlift causes pain, but squat and trap-bar don't). In the meanwhile, he can work on other movements where he is pain-free like pull-throughs which can cue some good movement without spinal loading.

Thanks for the post.

He can do squats without any pain. The pain seems related to the negative portion of the DL, which is how he got the injury in the first place. He had a tendency to shove his ass backwards, then drop the bar down, which obviously put his lower back in a position of carrying an excess amount of weight. While his form is fixed now, the injury still seems to appear from doing this specific movement.

We don't have access to a trap-bar unfortunately. Did you mean a sumo DL? What's a squat DL (youtube searches didn't yield any results)?

I'll get him to try pull-throughs and see if that yields any pain. Getting a second assessment might be a good idea too.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

So the stuff going on with my knee just keeps getting weirder. It seemed to get worse on Saturday from Friday, then was pretty bad on Sunday too. Sunday night I was unloading the clothes dryer when I twisted it funny and felt a pop deep in the knee, under the patella and I hit the floor. Within like 15 minutes it was pretty obvious that I had somehow knocked something back into place, because my knee no longer hurt in full extension or when I put my full weight on it. I iced it for an hour just to be safe and today it feels normal.

I'm going to humor the doctor and do the preventative exercises stuff that he gave me and take about a month off from lower body stuff, but given how bad my knee felt on Thursday I cannot believe that it feels normal today.

i also, for the first time in my life, have a boil.

i want to stab it with a pin so bad but i web md'd it and figured that's a bad idea, it completely sucks ass.

it's not in a good spot but isn't on my butt, let the guessing game ensue.

as for bulldogs, yes they have a lot of health issues, need a lot of maintenance and don't really function in hot/cold (i live in ny). they're somewhat fun but just rubbish animals. it's her dog though so wtf do i care.

Did anyone read the 70sbig article today? it is so ******ed. The example the guy gave was mindblowingly terrible. As in he just used an example that proved himself completely wrong. Thats a very rare feat.
