Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

can someone in vegas (i live in southern highland) recommend a trainer?

when i signed up for my gym the dude offered 5 for $100 so I took it as a motivator to get myself to start going. I like having a trainer a lot, but the dude just doesnt seem to be especially good ('bros it up' a lot)

id be willing to drive a bit for a couple sessions if its someone whos real good and will help me form a routine. if its someone here I'd do a favor of some kind (buy drinks, go over poker hands, throw u $$ whatever)

Find a powerlifting or weightlifting gym in vegas. Go there.

KingDan,

why not check out the FAQ and choose a program from there? Getting a coach to help with form is definitely very useful though.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

weeeeeeeeeee, i'm back on the sexy wagon again.

Had to hold renewing my gym membership for a week last month due to being in a different city. lo and behold that week turned into 5 weeks and only today i'm going back to survey the wreckage of my once glorious strength.

It's wierd. Once i'm going to the gym regularly, it's my greatest love but the minute i stop i'm just like **** it, i can't be arsed, this is crazy talk!

Based on that if Lyle goes to WFAC and uses a strict method of measuring and determines Zach only gained 20 lbs of LBM he can go "See, told you so, not 33 lbs!"
no claim, but you have to realize it is insane of you to NOT care that the claimed 46 (not 33) pounds of lbm in 6 months could be 30 or 35 just because it would still beat lyle's 2b/month (which again, is not concrete) by a good factor.

i see where lyle was coming from with the "rip can do no wrong" stuff. rip really ventured out of his element with the lbm claims, and it is frustrating that he did so without very solid proof, especially when a dexa scan is like $250. a single caliper test just doesn't cut it, even in the hands of the almighty.

Isn't there a relatively easy way to test LBM with a some water and math?

idk I'm siding w/ Lyle with respect to how the entire pre blow-up situation went down, post blow-up he's acting ridiculous though, not sure why he just went crazy the past few days.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

Do you consider the part where he is asking about seeing a squat video in an unprofessional tone to be pre or post blow-up? Cos I think that post was a bit over the top:

http://forums.lylemcdonald.com/showp...&postcount=118

ETA: I do think Lyle was right to question the LBM gains. But he could have done it in a much less dogmatic, trollish way.

qqing about professional behavior from a guy who's known for l337 trolling is a form of l337 trolling IMO

Well obviously I'm a noob and I didn't know Lyle was an uberl33t troll prior to this thing. Though now I think he's more of a crybaby nerd than anything else. Someone should get him a Popsicle.

Grease the groove is INSANE.

Last week I did chinups in a typical 3 sets til failure type deal... got 6,5,5 I think. I've been greasing the groove SINCE TUESDAY and I just got a set of 10 today.

I did like 30 total reps on Tuesday, mostly sets of 2, some 3's. Then yesterday I already felt way stronger, did a bunch of 4s, lots of 3s. Today I started my first set, felt fresh on 5, was like "**** it" and tied my PR of 10! I did 3 sets of 10 last summer at 15-20 lbs lighter.

Seriously unbelievable, 5 reps was so hard for me last week.

Its gonna be really hard to find a trainer working in a gym who'll train someone for $20 an hour, then there's the probability of the trainer actually being competent with any but the third. He probably even sucks as a cheerleader as it isn't hard to get upto making $80 an hour just having people do stupid stuff so that they can feel good.

I'm willing to pay more than that, this (type
of) guy is all my gym offers

The money isn't totally irrelevant but I'll for
sure spend a good bit to get someone good

Also, if you don't want to dry heavy, just drink a lot of water and go for more puke sets.
Should try puking while sitting on a swiss ball IMO. It will help you work on your core.
