i highly doubt anything that happened there will hurt his business. i'm not saying it shouldn't, but it won't.

That sounded like a good interview, too.

really? all I got out of the shane interview was Rip w/ a hidden agenda, you think both people involved doing the same thing would have made for good discussion? Perhaps good TV, but I don't think we'd get much out of them going at if for 45 minutes.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

This is the workout I'm currently doing and have done while on my low(ered) carb diet:

Workout A (once per week)
Squat, 5X5 ramping from 50% to 100% of my working weight
(eg 50%, 65%, 75%, 85%, 100%)
BP: same
Row: 4 sets of 5 ramping to working weight, 50%, 70%, 85%, 100%.

Workout B (once per week)
Lighter squat, using the first 4 sets from the previous workout A
OHP 5X5 ramping up to 100%
DL: Basically like SS: 5, 3, 2, 5, ramping weight up to final working set.
The DLs aren't as taxing as they are in SS when they follow a lighter squat and OHP. Plus I'm not trying to push new PRs or anything.

The volume seems low enough not to tax me too much while dieting, but just enough to keep some of the strength and muscle gains I've made on SS over the months.

I add 2.5-5 lbs to each exercise every week (everything except light squat). When the weights start to get heavy, I just reset 10-15% and keep cycling over and over. Usually it's Monday and Friday, but it's flexible enough so that I can do Tues/Fri, Mon/Thurs, Tues/Sat, whatever, depending on what I have going on that week, so I get at least three days between workouts, but no more than 5 (for instance, I have gone Mon/Thu one week to Tue/Fri the next, because of a long weekend trip).

quick squat form check:

still lifting light due to suspected quadriceps tendonitis. video is a few weeks old, i feel almost 100% atm though. note how long, spidery legs makes everything look awkward.

Because I lost 45 lbs that way without even having to think too much about it or plan my calories out every day, and without feeling too hungry all the time.

There isn't anything magical about carbs. It's just that foods high in carbs tend to be calorie dense, but don't fill you up very easily. White bread, sugared soft drinks, pasta, pizza, etc. Replace them with vegetables and meat, and you get more bang for the calorie buck without feeling as hungry all the time in my experience. So in the end you end up just eating fewer calories without having to think too much about it.

That's also the appeal of progressive linear strength training using compound exercises for me. I don't have to overthink things. 5 exercises spread out over two workouts, just add a few lbs every workout, boom: results.

I just at a healthy portion of macaroni and cheese, some pasta salad, and some thai noodle dish with a big glass of whole milk. Well, I had a bunch of meat with it, too.

I don't really feel better or worse eating carbs, or not eating carbs though tbh. I just like em.

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

In other news...

Two weeks jumping rope on the beach (well... I did like 4 sessoins in two weeks) has made me fkn awesome (I can do a thousand now). I couldn't get the rope spinning quick enough today. Maybe time to actually shorten my rope.

Although I should probably work on getting my double-unders more consistant now... but I really want to learn those cross-overs and swing-to-the-side things because they look cool...

YB been around lately? I figure he must've done some sick jump rope his time... Do you do all that tricky sh*t? Or just standard stuff because after all it is really just for conditioning?

Any other flavors I should get of this stuff that are as good?
I've tried all the flavors and think they are pretty much all equally good

Isn't that a little shallow for an "Oly squat?" Not that it's not parallel or anything, but with the recent rash of dick wavers saying that Olympic squats are A2G, I figured I'd bring it up.

Anyway, lol @ the last comment:

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

My knee is ****ed.

Squatted and DL light today and everything was fine and easy. When I reached the top of the stairs at my house I felt like I couldn't put any weight on my knee or else it would collapse. I can straighten and bend it with no weight fine, but as soon as I put any weight on it I feel like its going to collapse. The instability/pain seems to be on the inside of the knee under the patella. Thoughts?

Anyone have a link to Lyle's latest reaction to the evidence Rip has presented? I need to catch up.

Slept for a couple hours. Woke up to have 0 mobility. No swelling which I guess is good but its becoming clear that something is seriously dislocated/torn and I'll need to see someone in the morning.

It's almost more disturbing when it hurts and isn't swollen (TWSS).

Re: **8*8*8 March version Two(2) ***88***8

I really hope Lyle goes to WFAC, measures Zach, and has to retract all of his statements about Zach's LBM just like he did about squat form. That would give Rippetoe the sweep. I can only hope that Lyle is rational and intelligent enough to feel like he got punched in the stomach when he saw the squat videos, and the same for when this LBM issue gets resolved as I hope it will. I want his soul to be crushed in a way that empirically minded people hardly ever get to see happen to the delusional b/c the delusional usually aren't bothered by evidence that contradicts their position.
