Yes and no. In the short-term, they're near-useless because they're easily affected by hydration levels. I guess the long-term trend may show direction.

almost lost a press behind me today, would have been epic as there's this calf machine only a few feet behind the outside of the power rack and that would have made for an lol crash, luckily I managed to not drop it but it effed my last rep.

It's cool that you have Muhammad Ali doing the camera work for you, but it makes it pretty hard to see whats going.

I don't know how to fix it, or what causes it (dl noob myself), but it looks like you are kind of straigtening your knees early... if you know what I mean... maybe think more about lifting your chest more and/or first... I dunoo, dl noob.

As for the bruising, totally standard, probably more so with octagonal plates.

Yah, looking at it again, it's like you lock out your knees, then turn it into more of a straight leg deadlift or something...

They bounce around all over the place. This morning over a 5 minute span mine read 50.2 and 32.8. That said, if you plot it everyday, I would imagine you would see a meaningful trend.

Power Cage for sale on Craigs List for $75.

I'm a bit worried it won't be able to hold itself up, let alone an weight on it. Or is this a good deal?

I think I like the one-armed shirt even better, esp. in combination with the sweatband on the arm. The backtuck is pretty epic too, though.

I've heard they are a really good finisher, particularly at the end of SS workouts. They are also really popular with CT and the T-Nation folks who obviously know a lot about strength training because they are really big and stuff.

Agree. Bruising on knees can be helped by not breaking at the knees so soon on the descent. Break at knees after the bar passes them, and the bar won't hit them on the way down.

Kinda sucks that you're doing 5x1 instead of 1x5, but from what I've gathered that's the way it goes with them sucky octagonal plates.
