What kpc said is true, but there is one thing we can definitely agree on: Baseball players are going to be dead last any way you measure it. Unless Kyle Farnsworth is available. Then we have a shot to be 2nd worst.

Hrm. Lots of open ice times and stick and puck sessions. Could be fun. A bunch of dudes at work play, and while it's no checking, that's probably for the best. Leagues with wide disparity in skill should probably not allow open ice hitting, as that could be... disastrous.
i think i'm going to play hockey next winter just to keep my golf game in shape (lost 10+ mph on my clubhead speed over the winter )

I don't know if I've ever been this scared before but I'm alright. Seeing the video of the security guard was some pretty good motivation to keep drinking milk and lifting heavy things, then maybe next time I'll be able to run away even faster

They do seem to have much cooler heists in Europe, like that recent cash depot raid in Sweden where they used a helicopter and a fake bomb threat, various art heists, that jewelry store raid in Paris, etc.

I think the reason is organized crime is stronger in Europe and jail sentences are lighter, so there are more people with both the means and the will to pull these things off. Also easier to flee to a different country.

In the US law enforcement is ridiculously effective in high profile crimes. Nobody ever seems to get away with anything interesting anymore. And you get convicted of a high-profile robbery you do serious time.

For chin-up programming, say we're doing chins every time in the gym which is every other day. If I can't do 15 or 10-10-10 would there be any problem to doing 3 sets to failure on Day A and then 3x3 weighted on Day B attempting to up the weight each time?

Finally, how gay will I look doing chins w/ a 10lb dumbbell in between my feet?

form check?

The kid that I talked about earlier in the thread with a 34.6 inch vertical leap and very fast sprint times has the worst squat form in the world. To call them quarter-squats would be generous. He does, however, deadlift 390 pounds. And doesn't squat much.

He's going to be doing high-bar A2G squats. I figure in 9 months he'll be leaping over buildings given how bad his squat programming and form was prior to today.

My buddy has been getting into H+F type stuff over the last 8 or 9 months and he's seen some pretty good progress doing less than optimal stuff. His nutrition stuff is pretty good, but his workout stuff sucks. And now he hasn't seen any progress in a while and is wondering why. I've tried to help in and then last night he tells me he is going to start a new program on monday.

"Don't tell me is P90X dude."

"Hey, how'd you know?"

So anyway, I'm going to bet him $200 bucks he doesn't complete the program as advertised (finish in 90 days/ 6 days a week) he isn't sure if he is going to take the bet yet I'm giving him until sunday night to decide.

I'm sure he'd have a better chance than someone who was totally sedentary, but he also is a full time auto mechanic so I rather have him do a better program, but if he's going to be stubborn and ignore me, I might as well take some money from him.

Include the nutrition/diet stuff in the bet. That'll make it even easier money.

Sounds good, and no you will not look gay.

Has anyone here the "Return of the Kettlebell" book / dvd by Pavel Tsatsouline? I'm thinking about ordering because I want to get into KB training more for the days I can't manage to go to the gym. I can't find the DVD in a store here and the price for the book is pretty steep for 150 pages. Is it worth it?

ETA: will x-post in the kb-thread.

Wow, I talked to a guy at my work last night who said he gained 100 pounds in 1 year.

He said he was super skinny all through high school, and when he graduated he weighed 140 (average height). Then he shipped off to the military, started working out like crazy, eating like crazy and juicing. A year later, he weighed 240. He said when he came back his family barely recognized him and he couldn't wipe his ass.

Lolololol.
