Yeah, I've been feeling pretty good lately. Having said that this was still a real tough lift. When I unracked it I had that 'oh ****, this feels heavy' moment. I even did something I've never done in all my years of pressing...the initial dip didn't feel right so I aborted, composed myself, and started over. I was actually surprised I was able to do it. Scheduled for 195 next week so we'll see how that goes.

I should have kept my mouth shut, or fingers off the keyboard, or whatever. My shoulder started bothering me Saturday night...a little pain if I moved it the wrong way, nothing too major. Yesterday morning it was a little more sore. Nothing like last year when I couldn't raise my arm but pain nonetheless. This morning was a little better but still discomfort. Tendinitis? Beats me. Anyway, on to today:

Shoulder feels better today. Exhausted from work last night and only 4 hours sleep so this was a lack luster WO.

Finally did it. Let out a loud "Yessss! when I had the weight overhead which I think scared a girl on a leg machine behind me. I figured 190 was going to be the key lift. If 190 was a struggle than I would know I wasn't going to get 195. 190 went up nicely and I was confident I could get 195. It actually went up fairly easily. I even thought of trying 200 but figured I'd quit on a high note and save 200 for another day. The best part about it was I'm pretty sure I still have some gains left in me.

Thanks. Actually took me about 2' years. Whole civilizations have been built in less time. I was able to do 210 in Dec '08 but that was at about 220 body weight. Screwed up my shoulder right after that and it has been a long road since then.

Got in a Sunday WO because I'm leaving for Vegas tomorrow for 4 days and I didn't want to miss too much. This way I'll only miss Wednesday's WO.

Nice log. How do you do weighted incline situps? i have a declined chair and just hold a weight but im past 45#.

Do you have access to microweights for smaller jumps? Maybe buy some washers and bring them to the gym with you.

Thanks. I do them on an adjustable incline board. I set the board on the lowest setting, grab a dumb bell and clean it to my upper chest. Although my gym has DB's up to 160# I think 95# will be my limit. It is getting hard to hold the DB in place. If I can get 2 sets of 8 with 95# I'll probably raise the board a notch and drop the weight a bit and start the progression over.

I actually had a micro weight phase a few years back. I bought a couple of adjustable 2'# ankle weights that had 5 inserts of 1/2#. This enabled me to use 1# increments. I would wrap the ankle weights around the ends of the bar. It looked funny but it did the trick. I think I still have them around somewhere.

Today:

Push press: 95x5; 135x3; 165x3 (was supposed to be 5); 180x3; 190x1 (was supposed to be 2). Very weird day. On the 165 I just got out of the groove on the 4th rep and missed it. On the 3rd rep @ 180 I almost lost it backwards and had to do back peddle to save it. I should have had the second rep @ 190. Had it over my head but couldn't lock it out.

In January '09 I did 10 push press singles with 205. I also weighed 220 back then and 2 days later I couldn't lift my right arm. Ahh, the good times.

Today:
Push press: 95x5; 135x3; 155x3; 175x3; 190x1; 195xF. After the 190 felt hard I knew 200 was a long shot so I figured I'd try 195 but even that was too much today. This was the last day of this cycle so I'll be starting something new on Monday.

Changing things up a bit. I'm going to go with singles on the push press and dial it back a bit to start. I'm also going to focus on CG benches as my main 'push'. Hopefully this won't cause my shoulder to act up. PP's 3x a week plus the CG benches may be too much but we'll see how it goes. I'm also going to be doing back squats and will mix in some DL's as my 'pull' exercise every 4th week.

Weighted incline sit ups: 65# @ 1 hole 8,8. I moved the board up a notch and lowered the weight but this was too easy. I was only planning on doing 5,5 but I just did all 8 for both sets. I'll bump it up to 70# tomorrow and see how it feels.

Weight: 194. I've been under the weather since last week. Was actually pretty sick for last Thursdays WO. Was down to 191 on Sunday. Felt a lot better yesterday but still not 100%.

Interesting day. Had a nice head ache working at the gym. It didn't really bother me during sets but between sets it sucked. So when I got to the gym it was very crowded. Normally there are 5-8 people but today there were 25+. 'My' cage where I normally lift was taken by a guy who had 335# loaded on a bar sitting on the pins on the outside of the cage. I asked him how long he would be and he said 'I'm just getting started'. OK. I did my normal stretching which took about 5 minutes and this guy still hadn't done anything other than pace around. I went to the other (piece of ****) cage that is outside and started my push presses. After my warm up sets and 4 singles at 180 I ventured back to the other room for a drink of water and to see how much longer the dude would be since I wanted to squat in 'my' cage. He was gone and the weights were stripped down. It had been 10 minutes max since I left the guy who was 'just starting' and now he is done and gone. WTF?
