Got to 223 but am now fat again. Compliance was good outside of one stretch late in the year. Meh

Did PR bench and deadlift so year wasn't a total loss

Nothing special. Sometimes you need to set the bar really low so you can easily step over it.

3 for 5 so far. squat up to 420, DL up to 455, started a log.

missing the presses. bench is at 290, will give 300 a shot by years end, press is only at 175 although I really haven't trained it regularly

Caveat to all of this is my wife and I are expecting our first child in June, at which point simply maintaining a reasonable workout schedule isn't a bad outcome. Yes.
Not great results on the goals, but overall very happy with my fitness this year and the few PRs I scratched out. After we had our son in June, I started working out before work for the first time in my life, and have been very consistent in hitting the gym in the morning.

Additionally, I had a fairly serious knee injury in January (partially torn ACL, two meniscus tears) that was slow to get diagnosed and eventually required significant rest and rehab. I'm currently very pleased with my decision not to get surgery and basically feel uninhibited at the gym these days.

So overall good year in the gym and amazing year in my life. Looking forward to 2018.
