5x50
5x57.5
6x65

pullup
10,9,6,6

dip
3x10 +8kg

db lat raise
4x10x8

This went as well as expected considering I drank alllll the beer on Saturday, ate ~nothing and spewed 2x on Sunday. Actually, probably slightly better than expected. Also, I guess my press is in fact that much better than SM's now. Sorry bro.

I've been telling you clowns this. I'm actually not very strong. My squat technique is like dudes who C+J 99% of their front squat.

And your squat still does drive your DL up. It's not like adding 10lbs to your squat will guarantee 10lbs to your DL, but you could just never DL and still pull respectable #s with a balls squat. The opposite isn't true.
lolz

Just in my empirical experience, dl/sq ratio is very heavily influenced by limb length/body types and even if somebody built like KC put more emphasis on dl and less on sq his ratio would still be slanted.

Also, I'm going to start listing my pullups as:

sets x reps +(current bodyweight - busto)lbs

So in actual fact, I'm currently pumping out 10 reps at +40lbs.

Seems fairer that way.

Nope. In a few weeks you gotta do 75kg for 1+ (I remember reading this)

Yah, correct.

Actually, then I'll be able to start listing my press as "equivalent number of bustos" and my pullups as "bodweight minus bustos".

deadlift
5x60
5x100
5x130
1x150
5x150 (straps)
8x170 (straps/belt)

frontsquat
5x60
5x75
5x85
6x100

rdl
5x10x100 (last 3 sets w/ straps)

Low-gravity day.

My workmate gym buddy was there and was like "how much are you doing today?" and I"m like "170" and he's like "how many reps?" and I'm like "I'm shooting for 6 or 7" and he's like "whatever, i'd like to see that" and i'm like "fine. i'll do 8".

I pulled the first one so hard I thought it was going through the roof. I should have at least powercleaned it and set like an irl (wr!). The rest of them felt so good. I probably could have got to 10. Had to check that there was actually 170 on the bar after the set. Confirmed.

Then we had sex in the relaxation zone.

8x170 is pretty damn sexy in itself imo.

I thought today might be the day I bench 10x100, but spotter had to take the 9th. tbh, I'm still pretty stoked I'm bencing >100 for >5 reps. Didn't actually think I would get there for a long time. F*ck you Rip. you Jim.

Oh well, still gunna get these shoulders all jackyoked up like a muthfukka anyway.

Squat sucked today (been feeling sh*t all week tbh) so I made up for it with two types of curls.

4x70

10,9,6,6

3x10 +10kg

3x10x10kg

Have had this sh*t kind of mild cold/flu for the last 7-8 days. Really bullsh*t. I went through all of winter without so much as a sniffle, now summer rolls in and I get sick. It's not so bad that I really feel it, but it's bad enough that it is hard to sleep so I've been feeling tired and sh*t for the last week.

All that said, I'm not super disappointed with 4x70kg.

5x10x100 (last three with straps)

I remember 5x180kg deadlift being a long term goal. I think this is the first time I've done it. But now that I'm here, it doesn't really feel like I've accomplished anything great. Kind of like when I got 5x100kg bench. By the time I got there, it felt very pedestrian. In fact, I got 6 reps the first time I tried it. What does this mean? I wonder if the same will be true when I get my 5x200kg deadlift or my 100kg press?

Maybe. But I thought that about a lot of my lifts. If I can 5/3/1 with no interruptions/resets I could get there in somewhere around 11 cycles. Even if it is 15 cycles, that is only 45 weeks (lol deloads).

I know it gets harder as the goal gets heavier (tbh I'm getting close to a press reset), although I'm not exactly planning on losing weight, so that should help.

I'm almost 95kg now and slowly gaining. At 100kg bw, a 100kg press fits squarely in the middle of the "advanced" category on exrx.net. At my current weight I'm towards the top of "intermediate" for press.

Anyway, I think there is an outside chance of hitting it in 2013. How much I destroy my shoulders playing rugby is a wildcard however.

Spoiler:
ps. Don't be jelly of my deadlift bro. You should start getting worried about Mrs Snitch's deadlift. She did 2x5x75kg this week. Back in perfect extension too

...too far?

You realize you've made like 5kg of press progress in the last 20 months, right? Now you're somehow going to make 20kgs+ of progress in the next 13 months? Dieting and rugby aside, it isn't happening without test and like 50 lbs of weight gain.

Those strength standards are a complete waste of time.

Meh, taking the last 20 months as the timeline isn't very representative imo. I've had injuries/breaks/etc over that time. I know it's just as likely I will get injured/etc over the next 12 months, but that's why I basically said "injuries are the wildcard".

All that said, yeah, I realistically realize it's a super long shot.
