Wednesday 28 September 2011

squat
5x20
5x60
3x100
1x120
3x5x130 (belt)

press
5x20
3x40
1x50
2x5x57.5
3x57.5

deadlift
5x60
3x100
1x140 (belt)
5x150 (belt/straps)

Last rep on my each set of presses were mega-grinders. I will probably reset my bench and press a little and go back to a 3-day/week ABA for press/bench now. I knew progress wouldn't last long just doing these 1-day/week.

Smoked the squats and deads. rarrrr!

Also, it's probably been a while (or it is possibly an unstrapped wr) since I've done 140 unstrapped dead. Only a single, but wotevs.

Monday 3 October 2011

squat
lots x20
6x60
4x100
3x120
1x130
3x5x135

bench
some x20
5x60
3x80
1x90
3x3x95

pullup
5x5

Smoked the squats again. Depth is great, strength is great, but I think I might be favouring my left (injured a while ago) knee... I tend to feel tighter in my right erector (erector? the lower back muscle) when I'm finished.

Forgot how to add numbers together on my bench... I intended to do 60, 70, 80, 85... but some how managed to confuse 10kg plates with 5kg plates and went 60, 80, 90, 95... When I only got 3x95 in my first set (thinking it was 85) I was all pissy and like "wtf"... went for a walk around the gym, came back and noticed it was 95. then i lol'd.

Deads and squats were getting pretty hard on the same day... So I think for the next 2-4 weeks I will go squat/bench/pullup and dead/press/row ABA, M/W/F.

I came here to criticize your weakness but I am bad at converting units in my head so I have no quick gauge.

Hmmmm.

Ok I'm sure you press moar than me. Carry on.

I obv know how to do it, but 2 step algebra is tuff when drinking.

Yesterday I wore my short shorts in your honor for my volume squatting. Like, so short they could pass for boxers.

Also, when is your training going to reflect the log title Snitch?

i'm all about saving minuscule amounts of time on things i do all the time (for example, last year i changed how i tie my shoes), so i like the 2.2*160 google search.

Yeah well, that leads to an INCORRECT number! Snitch shouldn't be cheated out of the last .73 lbs.

I otherwise approve and indeed commend you for the attitude.

Yeah, but what if it's 57.25? Google search field + fast typing skills > advanced math skills for time.

Times by two and add on the first two digits.

100kgx2 = 200 + 20 = 220lbs.

2x125kg=250 + 25 = 275lbs etc

Takes less than a second literally.

Changing pounds into kg is more annoying by far.

My google ap on my iphone is kinda laggy, so I don't like to use it for simple stuff.

Plus when I am usually doing it, it's for a big number lift so I just ball park it, if I'm off by a few pounds I get the idea. If it's a press on the other hand, a few pounds is a big difference.

I agree with miles, I'm constantly looking for ways to increase my time management, I'm pretty elite when I wanna be. While I workout I'm usually catching up on TV, doing laundry and cleaning during the rests, and obv posting on the interwebs.

that method works fine for most numbers, but the google multiplication works for all. guarantee you can convert 185kg as fast as 100 or 125.

but it really fails when a lift ends in something other than a 0 or 5, which happens all the time in olympic lifting. 98kg is pretty got damn annoying your way.

I don't find this any more dificult to do in my head... subtract 10% and half the result.

You's are all right, doing sh*t like 57.5kg --> lbs is obv more dificult than 100kg --> lbs, but I still think I can do it quicker than typing into google.

196+20=216lbs

It took perhaps 3 seconds.

What if you are somewhere with no google also?
