That's what I thought at first, but I am actually too lazy/uninterested in flipping bottles. I have an Old Rip Van Winkle bottle that I bought for flipping and I have no idea where to start to sell it. So, this time I figured I should buy something that I'll enjoy opening for a special occasion.

I know it's probably a fish move, but I'll get to enjoy good whiskey so that's a win either way.

Also love THH, but prolly take WLW first.

And yeah, I'm def more in the "buy whiskey to drink with friends not to flip" camp than most, but it's getting increasingly difficult to justify passing 15/20/23 Van Winkle at retail then trading for multiples of something else interesting unless you just don't have the time or wherewithal to do so. You prolly get 5 bottles of THH +$100ish for one Van Winkle 23...pretty good ROI if you just want to drink good booze.

That said, I still prolly take my annual retail bottle or two of Van Winkle and chug it from bottle with buddies at Xmas party, so who am I to say

i'd do a backflip for another bottle of THH, so there's that.

Also, Van Winkle in DC. My preference was 20 > 15 > 12 > 23 > 10. This is what I get. Gotta spend more money at store I guess . #1PercentProblems

I added to my bar area a framed prescription for whiskey written by a doctor in 1924 on a form provided by the Treasury Department that uses the same paper as money at the time.

Yeah, likely the same seller as mine who has a bunch on eBay and etsy. I bought mine on ebay when there was a 15 percent off discount code. What I looked for is one on these forms from 1924 and 1925, which I think are the best looking, with whiskey written by the doctor rather than the more common spiritus fermenti, and one the doctor wrote legibly. All of those factors add a little to the cost, but they are pretty affordable. The framing costs more than the prohibition prescription. I looked up the names on mine and found they were all real people at those locations.

Another recent addition of mine were these Cibi crystal double old fashioned glasses used by Harrison Ford in Blade Runner.

If it was less than $1500, you prolly did OK.

Wolf FTW. One of the few "luxury" items that are actually worth the cost IMO
