What do you guys use while travelling for poker? What do you guys use while travelling for poker?

So I travel from casino to casino quite often without ever going back to my place. (staying at the casino hotel or friends place) I have discovered travelling light is the only way to go, but it's not always easy to travel light. What are some things you guys have that help travelling while playing poker? Also I'm looking for some kind of money belt or pouch to keep chips/cash in. Any suggestions?

Some items I have
  • Backpack with laptop slot
  • Ziplock bag with all toiletries
  • minmal clothes (for me 2 pairs of jeans, gym shorts, 4 shirts, 4 boxers, 4 socks)
  • Laptop, headset (for coaching), mouse
  • Sweatshirt for anyweather (i hate carrying around a puffy jacket)
  • Cross training shoes so I can workout or walk around wherever
All I need to travel pretty much anywhere.

Looks like a good list. You can get a good money belt cheap on ebay. Just make sure that the storage area is wide enough that you don't have to wad the bills too "fat". The Mikado?

you are living the dream ceegee, at least this is my dream.
i cant describe how jealous i was, before i rememberd that you arent a tourney-lucktard.
maybe you want to read the book "passenger hammerschmid", a book about a traveling pro, written kind of like poetry. its pretty good.
where do you travel to play ? in the us of a?

id suggest to write down important phone-numbers and other stuff on a paper.
in case of losing your phone you wont be stuck that bad.

Wait why are you just traveling from casino to casino? Why not just live near a few quality casinos like everyone else?

I'd probably want to have more clothing and shoes so that I was more prepared for going out. I mean playing poker/working out/staying in your room sounds like a pretty unsatisfying life. I'd definitely want a more versatile set of clothing so that I'd be prepared to go do anything I wanted to.

Other than that probably lots of different types of vitamins as eating healthy is very difficult on the road.

I'd probably get a much bigger suit case that is able to be rolled.

As for money... if it's a pretty large sum ( over 10k ) on you I'd probably make prior arrangements with the casino to pick up the cash there/cash out there using your bank to do wires.

Other than that I just have a pretty nice coat that has an inside pocket that zips to keep my money/chips in.

Don't be too jealous.

CG,

I can't imagine doing this without my car. Having one helps a lot, though obviously they're a giant pain in the ass when you're in nyc.

are you backpacking internationally?

if so, i usually carry a big backpack for most of my **** and then a separate smaller backpack to hold my computer/books/etc. (usually just put the smaller backpack on my chest when walking around in transition).

your list looks pretty solid. i think you can just buy a pack of ziplock bags before you go on your trip (or those waterproof smaller bags you can get). can't ever really go wrong with those.

might add a camera if you're going someplace cool.

note for computer: i think a netbook is alot better if you don't plan on staying in one place very long. they're cheap/light/etc (and if it gets stolen, whatever).

I'm traveling with my boyfriend for his poker again, and something we're really lacking on this trip that we've had in the past is ways to eat healthy and to not have to buy every meal at a restaurant.

last time we brought a cooler, which takes up a lot of room in the car and sucks with melted ice, so that's meh.

but what I really miss is having our magic bullet, or at least some type of blender, with us. along with some protein powder and chia seeds or psillium husks for added nutrients... it's so much better starting off in the morning with healthy food, and not even having to get dressed and leave the hotel room to do it.

I've traveled to Vegas multiple time for poker. (from Amsterdam)
I pretty much take the stuff with me that i also take with me on general vacations. However i always take with me:

My notebook (write notes at the table)
Ipad
Ipod
Headphones (for tournaments)
Hand sanitizer

The normal clothes, toiletries, iPhone charger, macbook.

Then at the tables I'll have my string bag with my wallet, ciggs, room key, headphones, snacks etc in it. Really like the little string bags over a backpack, easier IMO.

One of those mini grooming kits man, for basic care. The rest its poker and fun. Also if you don't play online...why the laptop?? a good smartphone would do the trick!
