Flying into Houston tomorrow night for a few nights to catch a couple Dbacks vs Astros games. Any recommendations for good bbq in that area? Based on a very quick search I'm looking at The Pit Room or Ray's BBQ Shack, but am open to about anything.

Fwiw, my airbnb is right beside Minute Miad Park and I won't have a car. I'd like to avoid a $100 round trip Uber ride to somewhere too far away if I can help it.

Thanks for any tips.

EC for TexMex try Ninfa's its near your place. I hate Houston because of its sprawl, so the best bbq may be a long ride, not $100 long, but still long. The Pit Room seems like a solid choice.

Best bbq I can vouch for is Tejas Chocalate Factory, but it is far away from your spot.

Just now saw your reply. Thanks for the recommendation. Ended up at Rays BBQ Shack for lunch today. I thought it was good. Had brisket, sausage, turkey, mac & cheese, baked beans, and fried corn on the cob. Nothing was bad.

I am a big fan of the restaurant Cured in the Pearl Brewery district. Just loads of excellent charcuterie and a sprinkling of inventive yet soulful dishes.

Mi Tierra. I dont eat a lot of texmex and this next place is a bit touristy but it was solid the last time I went 3 years ago.

anybody ever been to Town Hearth in downtown Dallas before? place looks super amazing in photos and has stellar reviews, so i booked a reservation monday night for my wife's birthday. lady on the phone asked if it was a special occasion and if it was my first time, and it sounds like they're going to go out of their way to do something fun for her, so i'm pretty excited. curious if there's anything i should know before going (including a recommendation to cancel and go elsewhere, if appropriate).

Haven't been but I think if you are already excited about going to a place, you should just go without seeking anybody else's opinion.

i did, and it was excellent.

some restaurants have special menus or menu items that they don't really advertise or make public- also never know when a place has a reputation for doing one specific thing better than anywhere else, so that was mostly what i was inquiring about since there seem to be some locals itt
