DC says Cain is still the best HW right now
07-09-2018 , 03:42 AM
Guys,

Does fat DC have a chance vs JBJ if he says Jones has to come up to HW to fight him after Brock?
07-09-2018 , 06:59 AM
DC said 245 is his natural weight, but he looked huuuuge. Could he have trouble getting down to 205 again? If he has two fights left in him, would like to see him vs Gus then retirement fight against Brock. **** JBJ.

After he beats Brock and retires, HW tournament to find the new champ: Stipe, Lewis, Blaydes, Volkov, Hunt, Overeem, Tuivasa and Ngannou (if he can sort his **** out).

I would say no, JBJ will always best DDC imho.

Cormier will never fight at 205 again.

Cormier did really well in his last fight against Jones. I imagine Jones being a coke fiend haven't helped him much, while HW should be an advantage for Cormier.

Unless "having a shot" == being a favorite, i would say yes, Cormier have a pretty decent shot at Jones at HW. 40-50%.

Hard to say, age is the biggest factor.

DC is clearly a different fighter at HW, the cut to LHW kills him. He goes from pillow fists to having bombs in his hands. He also moves better and is way stronger.

Don't really know how Jones would look at HW. But if Jones is off the PEDs I think Cormier would probably beat him, but by the time it happens Cormier would probably be like 41.

Pretty much every guy who was juicing that came off the juice decreased in performance by a massive amount. Next time Jones is caught for PEDs his career is probably over so I'd think he wouldn't risk it. Massively -EV.

You're overestimating his intelligence and judgement, imo.

Mark Hunt?

DC is planning to retire in march

(brock fight then +1 legit fight probably, maybe jones or some new hw contender/Lewis idk)

He got subbed by prime Frank Mir in his second MMA fight and avenged that loss. He got beat by sea-level Cain and Ubereem. He took a hellacious beating from Carwin and came back to win. I don't think he's as bad as some people are making out. I think DC, Stipe, and maybe Blaydes are the only favorites over him right now. The current heavy weight division is chock full young inexperienced guys and chinny injury-plagued 42 year olds.

I think the size difference might make brock able to take DC down and keep him there. If he cant obviously he gets demolished.

I cant really accept a world where he actually wins but who knows.
07-09-2018 , 09:13 PM
PEDnar couldn't take and keep down Randy Couture, but on USADA he's going to take down and control a 10+KG bigger Cormier??

I don't know enough about wrestling to adjudicate but Cormier is probably a favourite in a straight up wrestling match?
07-09-2018 , 09:43 PM
Lesnar will definitely be on the juice. Not that i think it matters since he has been in every single fight.
He seemed pretty content on boxing with Couture.

He took Cain down but couldn't keep him there.

Cormier definitely a favorite in a wrestling match.

This is the bare minimum. Right now it's GTO to eye poke as it's low risk high reward.

So uhhhhhhhhhhh Gustafson vs Volkan is basically for light heavyweight title now?...
07-10-2018 , 01:42 AM
I can't see Cormier going back to 205.

Even if he somehow loses vs Brock they can just milk that rematch, and after that Cormier is retired.
07-10-2018 , 01:46 AM
Yikes I've been reading some articles that basically Cormier says Gus wouldnt deserve a title shot even with a win over volkan and that he says Shogun would be more deserving.

Brock then Shogun for DC..... guess hes going for easy moneyfights to end his career. Blehhh
07-10-2018 , 01:50 AM
Kirby,

I read Shogun next, then Brock, then retire.
07-10-2018 , 01:52 AM
Shogun? For doing what exactly?
07-10-2018 , 01:56 AM
King,

For being a legend with a win streak and not being a big threat of beating DC and hurting his Brock money.

Edit: Stipe / shogun / Brock / retire lets DC go out on top having just defended two simultaneous titles back to back. Would be interesting if jones was back then and ready for a HW fight.
07-10-2018 , 02:31 AM
His win streak is kind of garbage though.
07-10-2018 , 06:55 AM
Cormier could be out for six months which would mess with his plans. If that's the case, he'll fight Brock then retire. LHW title up for grabs.
07-10-2018 , 10:09 AM
Cormier retirement will be contingent to JJ punishment, there is absolutely no way Cormier pass the chance to prove himself a last time unless JJ is out for years. The poor guy had an insane career but will be haunted forever by 2 losses.
07-10-2018 , 11:06 AM
Koc: DC can’t lose before his big payday vs Brock. He just needs someone with some name recognition and some justification for picking him. Doesn’t matter if the win streak is garbage.

Eddy: part of me agrees with you. But if he wins these next two fights, he can go out on top as a legendary active two division champion who just defended both belts. Of course it would be even better to go out having knocked out jon jones. But it would really suck having to retire after getting beaten up by jones. So I could see him going either way on that fight if it becomes a possibility. Different story if the Brock fight falls through, as jones is the only really big money other fight I can think of for DC.
