It sounds like you're a legal scholar and well versed on the possible sentences and charges in the state this occurred in.

I don't know what the laws there are, but in my state, if he lost at trial he would get probation, or 4-12 years in prison. And those would be the only options for the judge.

Stupid little twink.

There are some decent videos of the altercation between Khabib and Artem. Khabib was confronting Artem for calling him a pussy in an interview and insisted Artem say it to his face. Aretem denied saying it multiple times and Khabib slapped him on the back of the head/neck a little. They were talking in Russian the entire time.

Yeah, lol at Conor going to prison over this. This is minor slap on the wrist misdemeanor stuff. Could be some good civil suit $$$ though.

And lol @ it going to trial.

All - let's say the thuggish attack caused cut Khabib, who pulled out of Saturday's fight. How much could McGregor be legally liable for? If the whole even was cancelled could every fighter sue him for their purse, WMG sue for expected profits, Barclays Center likewise etc?

They could at least try. For a guy like Chiesa I would be suing for a lot more than the purse. A chance to beat Pettis, who is also effected, is worth a lot all by itself.

nowhere near enough to make it worth giving up future mcgregor ppv's

lol, ariel is terrified to say a single bad word about conor. just matter of factly reporting the news.

borg now in hospital getting his eyes checked out, hopefully he's in for a payday too!
04-05-2018 , 09:26 PM
Reed Harris (UFC Vice President of Athlete Development): At hospital with one of my coworkers. Possible broken hand due to attack by Conor and his gang of thugs. I got cut and showered with glass. We thought we were gonna die.

Per sources, Chiesa/Pettis and Borg/Moreno are both off. Chiesa’s facial cuts, and his weight cut was thrown off. Borg started to experience problems with his eye, from the particles of glass.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Would be it smart for a NY lawyer to start a class action lawsuit? Get attendees to say they'd dreamed for months of watching Ruthless Ray Borg v. Brandon The Assassin Baby Moreno in person etc.
04-05-2018 , 10:13 PM
Unfortunately Conor seems to be made of teflon. I know that if I willingly put glass in someone's eye I'd be in serious doodoo.
04-05-2018 , 10:31 PM
Connor has some history now : nick Diaz incident, bellator one, a horrible image. Flying his "gang" from Ireland to do what he did will be more than a slap on wrist imo. At least he ll likely need money after this and retirement won't be an option anymore.
04-05-2018 , 10:35 PM
I think he'll get a six month ban at most, so he'll come back in like October rather than July but what do you think would be fair? I think one to two years. The Diaz one I don't really care about but manhandling a ref is awful and wounding civilians in vigilante attack is obviously heinous. One to two years seems appropriate?
04-05-2018 , 10:53 PM
Diaz was obviously mild. It's the ramping up from that that will be a problem.
Can they ban him from entering USA?
04-05-2018 , 11:00 PM
NBC News: Champion UFC fighter Conor McGregor is in custody and is expected to be charged with assault by the NYPD following an incident in Brooklyn, NY earlier today, @jonathan4ny & @SarahWallace4NY report.
04-05-2018 , 11:47 PM
After Conor deals with the NYPD and gets back to Ireland can he just not come back to US and forget about the civil stuff? Decent chance he loses his visa anyway. Is there any enforcement mechanism for civil awards against foreigners who aren't in the country?
04-05-2018 , 11:57 PM
on one hand you have the any news is good news and the UFC will benefit financially from this cofeffe.

On the other hand Conner Mc. may be so f**ked the light from f**ked will take a year to reach him. Best play may be pay everyone a bunch of money and prostrate himself before Dana White, beg forgiveness and promise to be a good boy from now on.

I'm pretty sure NYC jails don't go easy on little gingers, no matter how much UFC they have.

lol, pretty sure conor will have his own cell, don't think they will toss him in with the robbers and public urinators
04-06-2018 , 02:32 AM
conor to fight khabib to pay for his sued money and lawyers

how ****ing hyped would that be.

Fully expect illegal strikes and after the bell/fight attacks
04-06-2018 , 02:56 AM
Khabib told him he will fight him anywhere any time and had a scary ass look on his face
04-06-2018 , 02:57 AM
I wonder what the plan was if Conor and his thugs actually got to Khabib. Get in his face and try to intimidate him? Rough him up a bit or worse?

If/when he fights again, tons of people are gonna want to watch, but I'd imagine the reception will be totally different. All but the diehard Irish fans will probably be against him. Does he just go full heel from here on out?
04-06-2018 , 07:26 AM
they were going to french kiss

gonna watch conor get slapped on the wrist again, and ufc fans will continue to whine about the lack of mainstream acceptance for their super professional, disiplined bushido competitions. because they are true martial artists, not a bunch of thugged out yokels with behavioral/attitude problems.
