If you know an instructor, ask them if they want to work off the books. If you don't know one personally then most will probably say no (most places it's a sackable offense if they get caught).

If you have time (three days maybe) doing the instructor course yourself is actually a pretty good way to improve your technique (as you have to be really accurate).

Another 30cm plus day here today - not Japan standards, but good enough for mere mortals.

Immense conditions in saalbach. Joined a ski school. We go a bit too slowly and turn too much but getting a lot of skiing done. You can't repeatedly stop at restaurants for beer/chips/strudel etc when in a ski group!

37 cm overnight at Fernie on top of about 20 yesterday (124 total for the last 7 days).

I might have to wait three or four chairs at some point today but I doubt it will be more than that. I <3 winter.

Awesome, was skiing chest deep yesterday. No video (yet), my snowboard friends were shooting some stuff on a GoPro so I might be able to post something soon.

Wow another sick vid mouthtoilet.

I'm seriously considering taking time off in like February to make a trip out there. Still have to research it a little bit but I've only ever been to Whistler when it comes to big mountains. I want to ride that powder so bad.

I think there is more going on in saalbach but the ski area itself is immense! Obv been lucky with good snow and a few days of clear blue skies but even so. Fast lifts, mainly gondolas and bubble chair lifts. No queues and none of this freezing to death on slow French chair lifts!

Ich liebe Austria!

How hard is it to ski and film yourself with GoPro being attached at the top of your ski pole facing yourself?

I just made this one last night: Bought the mount for 25$, then put some duct tape on my pole before mounting.

i imagine its easier to ski with a pole than snowboard with it.

snowboarding with it kinda sux. you definitely cant ride as hard as it puts you off balance and makes it difficult to twist your body when snowboarding.

you get used to it though
