Nowhere that includes the Bellagio can be called a ****hole. And despite you calling it "consumerism", some people travel to Vegas because it's full of great shows, full of great food, and full of fun things to do.
Seeking out those things is no different to what people did in villages and tribes thousands of years ago, before "consumerism" or being a pompous highbrow prick was invented.
Why does a more convenient medium of exchange inherently change the act of people getting together to entertain others? The performers love what they do and so do the crowds, who gives a **** if money is exchanged instead of bone implements and ****ty tasting preserved food?
