Anyone follow the Tony Ferguson stuff? His wife claims he basically kidnapped their son for 6 days, running out of the house with him with no diaper or anything on foot leaving his car there. Claims he has been hearing voices, thought his son was jesus, also thought his son was possessed by demons.

His wife also came out saying he's a good father and good husband but she just wants him to get the help he needs so doesn't sound like mad ex getting revenge situation and he's legit mentally ill.

He made a post about working with the UFC to get the help he needs.

Crazy stuff.

The guy received 55% of votes, you consider 55% of Brazilian voters pieces of ****?

Who knows what made Till support him and how much he knows/believes, unless he has swastika tattooed on his chest and he is promoting Hitler after fights I wouldn't call a fighter 'piece of ****' because of his political choices.
i'm not going to argue about this in here, but your position/ham-fisted defense of him and "55% of brazilian voters" is basically terrible fwiw

if you align yourself with fascists, you are my enemy

Yea he's clearly bi-polar. What makes it tough is that he's not going to want to take the medication that he needs. Anti-psychotic/mood stabilizing medication would most certainly dampen his fighting ability. Being manic is probably an ingredient to the recipe of his success.

Kind of. At best they put personal profit over their moral compass. It's definitely not a good look in any regard.

I'm not a psychiatrist but it doesn't sound like bipolar at all.

it doesn't really matter what you label it...staying up for 6 days, grandiosity (i'm jesus/my son is jesus) followed by paranoia/conspiracy, unusually bad judgement - when all of that is going on at the same time it requires mood stabilizing medication.

i'm close to someone who is bi-polar, and mania is basically an unlimited well of energy. it's amazing how well someone who's manic can function after 3 days of no sleep.

it explains tony's 2AM runs/never ending training, and why he's impossible to knock out.

being manic during a fight must be the ultimate advantage. the stress of a fight could easily trigger his mania and give him superhuman powers.

I have a friend who’s a paranoid schizophrenic manic depressive and he told me that it’s like the best drug ever. It’s fun to think you’re Jesus and hard to not go on a manic episode when it’s so fun and the alternative is admitting you’re a ****ed up crazy person.

Conor has retired again

i'm not buying it. i think his habit of renegotiating his contract for every single fight is starting to get on Dana's nerves.

if anyone's taking action, i'd like to make a wager that we see Conor in the octagon sometime in 2019.

i like justin gaethje's fighting style a lot (**** you and your american flag bro), but i'm always disappointed to see edson barboza take an L

i mean wtf, the guy is so quick, so athletic, so powerful, but he just seems like he lacks the ability to put it all together and generally just doesn't come into the octagon with a solid game plan. like, the last thing you probably want to do with gaethje is just war and trade shots- as good as edson is with his feet, why isn't he just starting out staying outside circling and chopping at gaethje's lead leg and keeping distance with front kicks or what not? like, i dont train or whatever but that seems like a pretty standard approach against a tough wrestler with a granite chin.

i feel like it's either a problem with his mindset or a problem with his coaching/training. i think at this point i'm just gonna loledson from now on

He’s a very good fighter. He just doesn’t match up well with some of the guys at the top of the division and the guys he has decent matchups with won’t fight him...

Dillashaw banned for two years (EPO).

In April 2018 Garbrandt accused Dillashaw of using EPO.

Feel sorry for Cody who lost twice to a guy who was almost certainly cheating and once to a guy who had previously cheated. Garbrandt is strongly hinting Duane Ludwig is behind the doping.

Cejudo is fighting Moraes for the 135lb belt. Yes thank you. Bookies have Moraes a slight favourite which seems right? Cejudo would have a good claim for the p4p #1 spot with a convincing win.

In other news there's a decent card this weekend.

Max Holloway v. Dustin Pear Tree II & Gastelum v. Adesanya. Both five rounders (interim belt).

Blessed is ~-200 favourite v. Pear Tree & Style Bender ~-160 v. Gastelum.

I love Max at those odds (the majority of Poirier's wins come from landing a big shot and he doesn't do that close to 1/3 times) and also like Gastelum (Adesanya has never fought someone as good as Kelvin).

Thoughts?

My hunch is most top guys are using PEDs of some kind - USADA just hasn't caught up to them yet testing wise. If you are at the top you can afford an elite doping consultant, or in JBJ's case...his brother.

Brennan Schwab suggested on his podcast that he was told the reason they caught TJ is they recently created a new test that could detect EPO in the manner TJ was using it.

If most of the top guys are on PEDs and what Schaub said is accurate we should see a bunch of guys and gals pop for EPO.
