Idk how to even compare it to the Robbie fight because idk what herb even saw besides Robbie dropping his hand from an awkward position. There’s a reason you never see anyone getting bulldog choke submissions in the ufc.
honestly i think yr a bit biased given u lost a nice bet.
I was at a bar and everyone there was screaming he's out when that hand fell. The announcers thought/said it. Herb Dean thought it. He asked for a sign to fight back multiple times, didn't get it, he grabbed his arm n didn't feel a reaction. I've seen the screencaps of the thumb up right before the stoppage but I don't think anyone could see it let alone Herb Dean.
I think the stoppage was pretty standard in today's UFC as a ref given all those circumstances, but I err on the side of always letting it go longer on any choke esp if you aren't 100%.
Robbie wasn't getting out of that choke so I don't think the outcome was likely to change.
