I’m pretty sure the same thing happened here as happened last time: His super-expensive undetectable professional athlete designer steroids got contaminated by trace amounts of regular old meathead t-bol.

Re: Season's Beatings: EDF MMA/Fightin' Thread

For the hell of it, here is my opinion on Jon Jones’ results from the point of view of a physician with extensive experience in reproductive endocrinology and testing for hormones similar to CDMT (turinabol)-

He’s juicing.

Not one thing that any of the officials, experts or “scientists” iare saying makes a lick of sense. Some of the reasons why I believe this are:

“Pulsing” is a term used to describe a phenomenon where endogenous hormones are secreted in a non-homogeneous manner. This applies to many hormones and all sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, and all of their metabolites.) Using this term to describe intermittent release of the hormone from fat stores is not something I’ve seen in endocrine literature.

While it’s true that CDMT is lipophilic and can dissolve within adipose cells and then be released during ketosis... if that happens one year after ingestion it would be a very unique hormone. Especially since it’s half-life is about 12-24 hours. Also this phenomenon happens mostly in fat people. JJ walks around at <10% body fat-it’s hard to believe that when he cuts weight he’s burning fat cells that have stored a metabolite of CDMT for a year. Just typing those words out make me feel like an idiot.

Of all of the testing I’ve seen for exogenous hormones, medications, chemotherapeutics, and administered bio markers I’ve never once ever seen anything test positive a year after ingestion. In a thin person the only (exogenously supplied) thing I’ve ever seen test positive for more than a few weeks is THC and I’ve never seen that persist for more than 21 days (in a thin person is important here.)

To be fair, I am not an expert in USADA testing methods nor in CDMT testing so I could be wrong. But I’d have to be surprisingly wrong in a way that undermines everything I’ve ever learned or seen in clinical pharmacology. Also to be fair, false positive tests happen sometimes. Its way more likely that this is a false positive test than that we just discovered a drug with a pharmacokinetic profile never before seen in medicine.

Irieguy - thanks. Why is Jones only popping like one in every eight tests and only for super low levels? Do you think USADA/California's 'pulsing' explanations is in good faith?

Re: Season's Beatings: EDF MMA/Fightin' Thread

Not sure if it is accurate or just some bull**** that spread, but i keep reading that Jones had 20-80 picograms when he got popped and suspended, and this time he had 60?
Why is he suspended the first time but not this time? Is the amount really that insignificant compared to what is usually found?

There's obviously a chance i have been tricked, and this is all false info.

Lets not forget that Jones hid under the cage at his gym for 8 hours to avoid a drug test. He cheated his whole career, why stop now?

There probably is some truth to that but its more likely a “f#@k you” to Nevada for not cooperating.

The interesting part is will this effect the Conor And Khabib hearings in Nevada.

I just don’t understand why they have testing at all if they’re going to do this. Maybe it was part of the fox agreement or maybe it was to make the company look more attractive to buyers.

Haven’t listened to the interview with golden snitch yet but it’s interesting that he’s employed by the UFC and not usada like they try and pretend he is.

I think both Lawlor and Mir both failed similarly and asked if itís possible the failure could be from an older supliment. They were told there was zero chance. I wonder if this opens the ufc or usada up to any lawsuit?

I don't understand how that stuff makes any sense. Jj has so much to lose from a lifetime ban with not that much of an edge if he doesn't get caught.

Because he’s juicing with plans to stop in enough time for the metabolites to clear his system and every once in a while he times it wrong. So whenever he’s in a testing window he expects to be negative but sometimes he has very low levels because he needed 3 more half-lives of excretion to be 0.

A little more on the levels: they are nothing more than a measure of time since ingestion. A recent dose gives high levels and then the hormone degrades and is metabolized and the metabolites are cleared to zero. Zero is the amount of turinabol people have in their blood. Zero is what somebody who takes it will have after enough time and that amount of time is something much much much less than a year.

And no I do not think USADA and the CSAC are acting in good faith. They know that he took turinabol recently and they know steroid testing science is murky and understood by very few. So they are deciding to not take more decisive action for some reason that has nothing to do with the word good.

You should watch the rogan interview. I still believe Ufc is super shady but he gave more details.

What did that even prove? There are some possible explanations but where there is smoke there is fire and smoke surrounds Jon at all times. I could understand giving Jon the benefit of a doubt if this was the 1st or even second time but this is like a half dozen **** ups and I just want to see him gone from the sport.

Re: Season's Beatings: EDF MMA/Fightin' Thread

I thought a few aspects were interesting. The fact that they caught him based on a Russian illegal study and that the same study is saving his ass because of the kind of metabolite that were found.
Either jj is innocent or he is microdosing but cannot be proven guilty from some metabolites that already got him punished.

How is he innocent? He failed the tests numerous times and theyíre letting him fight on the basis of some new theory. Remember he had a shortened sentence because he accidentally took dick pills that had a banned substance and now itís in his system years later? Heís failed so many times itís unbelievable heís able to fight. Idk how anyone believes this bull****.

Let’s not forget that many fighters have served two year bans for 1st time being caught with similar levels of this metabolite in their system. Jon has barely served two years on I don’t even know how many test failures.

Now they are making an approved supplement list for next year and if one of those is contaminated . The fail will be thrown out .

How can they prove what made you fail exactly though ?

Canít you just take supplement A and a steroid and say the supplement was contaminated ?
