Max win to Aldo is less significant not because of how the match went. It is because he was 2nd to conor
Conor destroyed a 10 year winning streak when max beat jose"i want to retire mma for soccer or boxing" Aldo.
This is accurate, but only matters for Max v. Conor
Think of it this way. How many ways can TJ/Barao go? How many ways can Max/Aldo go? Basically one. One guy clearly dominated the other. Even without rematches, after the results of the first fights, it's pretty easy to say "That guy is better".
That's not true of Conor/Aldo (probably true right now because Aldo is broken and Conor is on more Coke than the city of Atlanta). That fight didn't involve round after round of one guy dominating the other. It was a flash KO. One situation is pretty much proof positive one guy is better, the other could easily be a fluke.
To be clear, I don't think it was a fluke, I think at that point, Conor was better than Aldo, but that's not really the point. Let Conor rack up a few defenses. Hell, let's start with one.
