Maybe try to bring a bunch of goods down here that can be sold for a lot more due to import taxes etc(think iphones, laptops, cameras). There is a "Buenos Aires Expat Hub" group on facebook which I found very helpfull to setup here.

How do I make contact with the poker community down here? Are there any regular meetups?
The poker community it's quite small so there are not regular meetups. I know leopeluca and CHIQUIDEALER, both great online poker players. They play every CAP and some thursdays (MTT both) at Puerto Madero Casino.

I honestly wouldn't play poker in Argentina for any type of real money, when I was living there two years ago in Cordoba there was a lot of aggressive crime over very little money (holding up a corner shop, holiday break ins). You'd have to feel really good about the circumstances (even in a casino) to want to do something like having a bunch of cash out in the open.

From what I hear, things have only gotten worse too, BA should be worse than where I was too. Asking for trouble IMO.

Is anyone from this thread still there? This thread went from extremely popular to a ghost town. Has BA changed that much for the worse in the last 5 years or is it more just a function of 2+2 losing traffic and poker becoming far less popular?

Hello everybody!

We are two French poker players (one is a pro since few years and one wants to become a pro). We spent 2 months in Colombia and 1 month in Perú and our goal is to find an appartment for 2 months in Buenos Aires (Argentina) to play online and enjoy the city! Let me know if interested to be our roommate.

Do you know what the current state of online poker is in Argentina?

I've found it very hard to find info about tax and what is/isn't allowed and I don't see many players from Argentina on stars
