Can anyone top Sage on the SIL Index?
04-07-2017 , 04:32 AM
Sage must be boring as ****
04-07-2017 , 05:24 AM
I'd be pissed to raise a daughter who wanted to marry Sage.

Bisping V Silva rematch for the title. Winner gets GSP.

i won't support this comment because it's a really really stupid rule that they can't blaze

scientist has a point though, fighters are allowed to smoke weed basically at any time except for the 24 hours before a fight.

i agree with you, but i also believe that weed can be a PED. if you aren't allowed to drink a ton of coffee right before a fight you prob shouldn't be allowed to get really baked right before you walk out. there are some kinds of weed that actually give you energy.

how are the drug testers going to know whether the person smoked 1 or 8 or 23 or 48 hours before the fight? THC stays in your system up to 30 days (granted, an athlete who is eating well, drinking water, and exercising will burn off the metabolites quicker than that), but you're still gonna fail a pre or post fight drug test if you blaze regularly leading up to the 24 hour cutoff point

you're thinking of sativas, of which i used to grow landraces in my medical garden. my avatar is even a developing bud of dj short's flo, which apart from being one of my own personal favorites, is a legendary/hallmark example of a sativa that gives you a super cerebral high and people feel almost motivated to do **** when they smoke it. i blaze daily and with that said, taking a few hits to the face of flo or any other heady sativa is probably one of the last things i'd do before going out to fight. and as a non-pothead, if you aren't blazing all day every day to build up a tolerance, the sativa strains you refer to are known for inducing anxiety and there's no way you could function at a high enough level to engage in a professional cage fight. beyond that, how you gonna go rounds and suck wind with cottonmouth (which you will definitely have as you sweat and your adrenaline starts pumping)? it literally makes no sense.

we heard this same bull**** from the doctors in pride when nick diaz gogoplata'd their little golden boy gomi, and it's just as silly now as it was then. weed is not a PED for fighting

They test for the concentration of THC in your system. When the rules were first discussed some opinions were that you'd literally have to smoke the day of your fight to pop. Not sure if that's true, but weed is a pain reliever, so it's reasonable to not want fighters to be high during a bout.

It's also worth noting that USADA increased the level they test for in an effort to allow fighters to smoke recreationally.

well everybody cuts weight and i'm not sure what effect that has on the concentration/levels of metabolites in your blood so that's a major factor that i didnt really think about (otherwise the levels would still be about the same for heavy smokers in the time periods i listed earlier), but the pain relief from marijuana is derived from indica and CBD rich profiles (not sativas), which are the ones that make you feel super stoned and sedated with a strong body buzz- not really the kind of way you want to be feeling in a cage fight, i imagine. so nah, weed is still not a PED for fighting

that is super cool tho that they relaxed the rules, i wasnt aware of any of that.

but then again, chris leben was taking methadone and OCs to the face before fights so maybe the goal is to just get in there and take shots like a zombie over and over until you have brain damage

Cormier and rumble still haven't made weight with less than 10 minutes to go. Seems bad.

Edit: less than 5 minutes to go.

Edit: DC missed by 1.2#.

Edit: uhh Dc went back 1 minute later and made weight. Wtf.

Edit: Rumble made weight by a lot. 203.8.

No idea what the **** just happened.

DC missed weight
04-07-2017 , 11:00 AM
wtf
04-07-2017 , 11:00 AM
DC walks back in 60 seconds later 1.2 lbs lighter
04-07-2017 , 11:15 AM
and then rumble walks in at the last possible second and weighs in at 203.8. 1.2 lbs under, exactly what DC missed by.

i'm gonna call shenanigans on this one. i've been suspicious at UFC weigh ins before. here's how it went down. DC comes in at 206.2. someone jimmys the scale so that DC weighs 205, which causes rumble to come in at 203.8...sorry, but rumble is not showing up at the last moment dripping sweat a whole pound lighter than he needs to be. DC missed weight, rumble was exactly 205, but someone had their finger on the scale (but in reverse).

same thing happened when ronda was fighting holly. rumors came in that ronda was having a rough weight cut. then, they both weigh in at 134. pretty obvious someone gave ronda an extra pound but she happened to actually make weight and not need it.

^i think that's probably correct and certainly wouldn't expect this organization to be above some total ****ery in order to avoid losing money

but on the other hand, i dont give a **** if the UFC has to rig a scale because either of these dudes are 1 pound over their stupid weight limit and they're both still ready and willing to fight each other, if it means not having to cancel the thing.
04-07-2017 , 11:22 AM
ya, if my version of events is correct, I and 99.9% of people are glad that they did it
04-07-2017 , 11:23 AM
Just saw the weigh in, DC looked like death, I think he cheated. He was definitly holding on to the towel.
04-07-2017 , 11:26 AM
the average human hand weighs .575 lbs. two hands would weigh 1.15 lbs. IT'S ALL ADDING UP!!
04-07-2017 , 11:42 AM
Aren't the weighins held by the commission?
04-07-2017 , 11:43 AM
haha i like the interview w/ commissioner... https://twitter.com/arielhelwani/sta...69986094923776

ariel: do you know how DC lost 1.2 lbs so quickly?
commish: we don't ask that question

04-07-2017 , 11:54 AM
The weighins were **********ed, someone fiddling with the scales would be obvious? Not sure if it's legal but you could easily lose 1.2 lbs blood in a few minutes. Although why Cormier wouldn't do that before weighing in the first time is odd.
04-07-2017 , 12:17 PM
arent they doing weight in without public early and they fake one for the show ?
