I can definitely understand the appeal just to look at the mechanics of it. When I first got in to watches, I was in search of an affordable Tourbillon as well.

There are all kinds of skeleton designs out there if you just want to see the works. A tourbillon is a complication meant to improve accuracy.

Don't mean to offend by explaining the obvious.

Agree the Chinese Mechanical forum at WUS will be your best resource.

It's a Hamilton Jazzmaster Maestro, automatic chronograph.
Spoiler:
Heres another pic I took so you can see the dial better.

Did someone say accuracy?

Wristwatch Atomic Clock

Accurate to 1 second per 1000 years.

I imagine in 1000 years it will be fashionable.

A chinese tourb is a step down even from a Tag IMO.

Yeh the tourb is a pretty terrible idea that you'll regret

well, yeah, that's the short answer. There's nothing inherently bad about chinese made stuff nor inherently good about swiss made stuff, but when it comes to chinese tourbs, there's basically no data on long-term survivability, or value retention. If you really want one and you're OK with the idea that it's almost certainly going to be a throw-away when it breaks and/or needs servicing, then go for it.

JLC or GO in that range, select Zeniths, select Rolex and Omega and even Breitlings. Nothing interesting from IWC between 5k and 7k.

all of the JLC watches in that range are kinda meh IMO.
Never been a fan of zenith or omega.
Brietlings are so damn big that they are fairly lame IMO.
The only rolex i would really want is a gpld presidential, and i dont have 30k so i dont really want to go rolex.

see my dilema?

yes, your problem is that you have terrible taste, so everything else you've posted makes a lot more sense now.

I recommend Jacob & Co.
