Goose,
This might be too 'busy' for you and not roman numeral, but one of the nicest white dial brown strap watches out there in my opinion. Someone is selling it on the watchuseek forum right now.

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-...le-505174.html

Or you might be interested in a Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Retrograde and pick up an aftermarket or custom brown strap. You'd still be well under 5k (they for for a little over 3k on Jomashop I think)

I forget who it was but a while back in this thread someone mentioned buying this watch and you could probably ask them about how they like it.

Comes out this summer, will be around 10k, ref 5101 Portofino Hand Wound 8 Days.

Hahahaha, this was me. Yes I love it, it's a black strap/black dial though, which is why I'm looking for brown/white now.

Amoeba, thanks! I'll keep an eye on that as it is definitely my favorite right now.

Some others I've come across in the past hour that I've liked are:

~7250$

~8000$

(Would need a brown strap of course)

???

What is this model? I can't find it anywhere. It's from post #3364, and says it hasn't been released yet. That was last July, so I assume it has.

Love this watch at ~1750$ too, but I wasn't able to find it with a white face.. Is this possible to find?

I think we can conclude that I have to expand my budget.. As usual I have expensive taste

strap color shouldn't even come in to your decision. you can always change the strap, get something aftermarket. Most of these are deployment clasps so as long as thats original, there isn't anything wrong with aftermarket strap imo.

Willing to spend 5k or less..maybe more if it's a sick deal.

Anyone have any recommendations?
You can get it on a strap, too.

A little different...

My advice, whatever you get, would be to get it on a bracelet with an additional leather strap if you can. It'll make it more versatile, plus the resale value will be much better.

The roman numerals thing is making this much trickier. If you wanted arabics, I have a few more suggestions.

Edit: Wow, a lot of posts showed up while I was making mine. Luckily, I didn't repeat anything. Well, you have a lot to choose from. What are your favorites?

Aquaterra is a good choice. Stock pictures don't do justice, though.

Those omegas are interesting guys! Hadn't really considered them, but I will have a look at the prices.

Nobody with any info on the un-identifiable Longines I posted? The new one? I'd like to get a price on it, as if it's less then 2.5k I'll probably just get that.

I think that is the Heritage collection. I'm not sure that exact model exists. This is close.

Liking this one

With brown strap obv. Would like it a lot more if it weren't nearly 5k (6500msrp). Don't think I'd pay that much for it. Maybe at 3k I'd be a little more excited.

I think if I had to pay 5k, I'd just wait a little longer and get the 10k IWC in the summer, or the 7.2k JLC or 8k GO.

Nobody knows what this watch is? It would solve all my problems if it was reasonably priced..which I assume it is.

I can only find it in rose gold on their website, from the Flagship Heratige series

Got another cool one for you if you like that Longines. Can't post a pic right now, but check out the new Stowa Chrono. A real beauty, a bit unique, and around $2k I think.

Nice, like this style a lot. Why am I such a loser and switch out all straps with NATO/Zulu straps? hahaha It makes watches look so much cheaper but I guess that's why I like doing it.
