I need a recommendation for a passive over-ear headset. These will be used for passengers in light aircraft, so they need
-good noise protection
-comfort
-durability
-quarter-inch jackm (or screw-in adapter)
-preferably a coiled cord, or cord length less than 2m
-price below $250, unless the thing is amazing
Current cheap aviation headsets we have:
PILOT USA Listen Only headset
These things are uncomfortable, the adjustment knobs constantly loosen and fall off, the adjustment knobs catch people's hair, they look crappy.
Just bought one of these to trial:
STATUS Audio closed monitor headset
They are pretty good. Comfortable, light, durable looking cord and jack. The noise reduction is not as good as the crappy ones that we currently have though.
Anyone have any recommendations? Passive reduction over ANR, as we don't want to worry about changing batteries for passengers on 25 headsets all the time. Bluetooth connection wouldn't work as we'd need to connect 7 headsets per aircraft to the intercom.
