I did too. How the hell can he get away with saying that he knew Bisping was knocked out though? Surely that has to carry some sort of sanction. Still, awesome job, Hendo!

Meh I went 4 for 4 for picks, and wasn't to bummed Mir lost, even though I was pulling for him, but god Brock's after fight antics were disgusting and really ruined it for me. This isn't a high school fight, act like a professional you tool.

Fun card. Didn't quite live up to expectations but I mean, it'd be almost impossible for it to.

The Bisping/Hendo and GSP/Alves fights were a little too one-sided for me but sweet Jesus Hendo brought the noise!

Missed the Akiyama fight live and didn't pay too much attention to the Fitch fight since everyone was buzzing about Lesnar and his antics.

My head almost exploded reading the PBP: "Coleman looks fresh to begin the second round."

It looks like 4 of the 5 belts won't be lost anytime soon, now all we need is BJ to dismantle Florian and all 5 belts probably won't change hands for the next 2 years. The only way I see it happening unless it's some fluke KO (i.e. Serra) is if someone wins a 2nd belt in a different weight class.

The loss to Mir may have been the best thing that ever happened to Lesnar. He's fought so intelligently the past 3 fights that noone this side of Fedor will ever touch him. I think his transition to invulnerability was complete when he let Mir stand up early in the 2nd round. Basically if Lesnar doesn't get a clean takedown or land in half guard or side control, then he isn't gonna risk getting flash-subbed b/c he knows he can get a takedown at will. There's pretty been no point in any of Lesnar's last 3 fights where the outcome was even remotely in doubt. His 1st round strategy was beautiful. I think his camp pretty much knew that if Brock laid on Mir and ran out the clock in round 1 that there was no way Mir had the gas tank left to finish the fight.

GSP's wrestling is just insanely good and I don't see a welterweight he can't just easily GnP to a decision win. He's more or less used the same formula to win easily vs. Fitch, Penn, and Alves.

It's weird b/c if Penn can take care of Florian, then it might be a long time until we see a champ who isn't at least a -300 favorite.

Pretty sure Lesnar was greased up and/or hit Mir in the back of the head again, pretending this didn't happen...

Good interview with with Brock at ufc.com. Appears very calm and humble (compared to usual spotlight interviews). Cements the idea that he played up the whole "heel" angle, reminded everyone that people payed good money to see.

I'm all for the belts staying where they are. Builds up more hype and when they do lose then it'll become a much bigger accomplishment. LHW division felt like a crap shoot until Machida took over.

Oh well, if it happened, then it's justice for Lesnar getting F'ed over in the first fight vs. Mir. It's not like it changed anything. If Mir was gonna win, it had to be a 1st round sub or flash KO. Once Lesnar just laid on him for the whole round (sapping almost all of Mir's gas tank in the process) and landed a couple big shots, Mir's chance of winning pretty much went out the window. If Lesnar doesn't end it in round 2, he either wins an easy 50-45 decision, or GnPs Mir in a later round.

For some reason I have the feeling that the first belt to change hands will be MW via Silva retiring.

Posted this in the SE thread also.

This seems likely. I think Silva might actually be the most vulnerable to being beaten as well. He's a counter striker who relies heavily on hand speed and as we saw with Liddell, age is a larger factor with those fighters, and Anderson's getting up there. His last 2 fights are a bit concerning in that he might be going to a less risky gameplan b/c he knows his striking has dropped a bit.

Henderson-Silva is probably the closest title match that could conceivably take place in the next year (excluding Penn-Florian). I'd probably be on Hendo at +250 or better.

Spider is 34... at 34 Liddell was ****ing people up at will... Anderson still has plenty of good years in front of him. He will prove this with his dismantling of Forrest at 101. BJ is the most vulnerable IMO. He has too many questions about his heart and gas tank still. Florian will be a great test, especially since BJ won't be carrying much intimidation factor into this fight.

RIP Arturo Gatti

As a long time boxing fan, I would like to say goodbye to Arturo Gatti. He was apparently found dead in Brazil hours earlier. The details are inconclusive so far and irrelevant to me. He was one of the most entertaining boxers ever and one of my personal favorite fighters. He is known as a fighter whose heart greatly outmatched his boxing skill. His skill was still world class. He was truly awesome to watch fight.

RIP Arturo

GSP is my hero. Is there any doubt that he would be able to take Anderson down if they fought? Keeping him down is another issue.

Also Brock is a tool and I really can't stand him. I watched the fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and most of the place was booing him and it made me happy. Fedor kick his ass one time please.
