Ep 3 and 4 of the 100 Greatest UFC Fights was a great way to get psyched up for Saturday.

Spoiler:
I didn't think they'd have as many current fights as they did. Sanchez vs. Guida was #13 and Machida vs. Evans was pretty high up there too.

As an exciting bonus to British fans, Sky Channel 433’s UFC 100 coverage will begin at 9pm, Saturday, as a 9-hour UFC marathon gets underway with all five episodes of the ‘UFC’s Top 100 Fights’.

This will be followed by the official ‘Countdown to UFC 100’ program which then leads into 3am, where the spotlight turns to Las Vegas, as the biggest MMA show of all time goes LIVE.

UK fight fans unable to join the televised action on Sky Channel 433 need not worry, though, for they can also catch every punch, kick and submission at UFC 100 by logging on to UK.UFC.com.

Included on the historic UFC 100 card are UFC Championship battles between heavyweight juggernauts Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir and welterweight wrecking machines Georges St. Pierre and Thiago Alves.

Plus, Ultimate Fighter(R coaches collide as British superstar Michael ‘The Count Bisping and former PRIDE champion Dan Henderson throw-down in a middleweight showdown.

Beyond UFC 100, there are further exciting announcements in the pipeline for British UFC fans.
Us British fans do have it alright.

Steve's head is still attached.

Anyone watch Countdown yesterday? I loved all the commentary towards the Mir/Lesnar fight. Mir was cocky saying how he wants to stand with him, he is better standing. Then everyone, Dana, Joe Rogan, etc, just say completely otherwise and say it would be the worst strategy ever.

Does Mir even have a chance?

I think the fight goes the same way as last time.

I'm kind of worried for GSP...I really don't want him to lose, but I have a bad feeling about Saturday. Thiago Alves looks like he's full of confidence and ready to claim heads.

Alves is going to destroy GSP. I thought he looked good at FN2, and he went on a tear (except the Fitch fight) I think he has a great shot to beat GSP, and go on a long run as champ.

GSP via domination

Having said that though Alves is just a beast and could probably fight wild animals if he wanted to, so wouldn't be shocking to see him pull it off either.

Really shocked to see people saying GSP will get destroyed. It seems like GSP has dominated much higher caliber of fighters and has many more tools than Alves. GSP's so incredibly quick and his domination of Fitch was unreal.

Can someone give me advice on best way to get 2 (together) ufc100 tickets? Online (craigslist or scalping site?) or are there specific areas at las vegas it would be easy to get them?
07-09-2009 , 08:30 PM
I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but Dave Meltzer is on todays ESPN Sports Guy podcast talking about UFC 100. I'm going to give it a listen and expect Simmons to be a bit out of touch on the current UFC reality.

I hope not. I'd love nothing more than to see GSP get murdered in the cage. Please Brock, don't let me down. I'd like for bisping for win but just feel hendo has the slight edge in that match. Also loving the free MMA for UK fans

<3 meltzer. i subscribed to his newsletter when i was like 13

listening to it now, its actually quite good. simmons admits freely he doesnt really know what he's talking about, and spends most of the time actually interviewing instead of a conversation type podcast. beginner-ish, but worth listening to.

Ebay and Craigslist and good/obvious choices. There will be dudes outside the fight scalping tickets, but I think you will overpay there. The same is true of stubhub/ticketnow/other scalping sites.
