OMG I have so many stories about that guy. That is just crazy talk, but you have no idea.

yea, i'm pretty much expecting ufc action figures

dana was on the phone w/ O&A tuesday at 6:05 am EST to talk about ufc 100.

he talked about Brock and how he was just fired up and running at the mouth but that he's really a good dude and typically doesn't act like a fool. He was PISSED about the sponsor dig though for sure.

he Hates steve mazzagatti as a ref- he said that the guy has no business being within 20 feet of a mma event.

there are no plans for a fan convention at 101 in philly but it's possible they'll start doing them semi regularly at events in the future.

He mentioned he still wanted to go after fedor and get him.

Said he didn't think the henderson shot was intentional but that he was excited and running at the mouth after the fight.

said stephan bonner "wanted to hang himself" after posting the loss coleman.

btw, everyone thinks that akiyama got a gift right? i thought belcher had it 30-27 or at least 29-28...didn't seem that close at all really.

u guys want me to put up my shogun pic, rampage pic, (i deleted my bader chillin above the pool party pic), but i have a cool pic of a "mini brock" that was at the pool. guy was prolly 230 and shorter but was a big freakin dude w/ the SAME look.

I thought Akiyama won 29-28. The only round I had going Belcher's way was the third. Even that round was close enough that I wasn't surprised at one Judge scoring it for Akiyama, due to MMA judge ******edness aka variance. If Belcher hadn't gotten a knockdown in round 1, that round definitely goes to Akiyama. I agreed with Rogan's analysis that the knockdown was more the result of Akiyama being off balance than a knee buckling blow by Belcher. Sexy bounced back up immediately. Therefore round 1 to Akiyama imo.

I thought Akiyama won and so did everyone I was with. I think standup was fairly even (if in different ways) and akiyama controlled the fight better with takedowns. I was surprised when people here thought it was some kind of robbage.

haha I'm the opposite. I can't wait for the odds to come up on this fight...I think Brock is going to have sick good lines.

I think Brock is favored in that fight if it ever happens.

the more i see of brock, i just don't know if fedor's got the physical skills to beat him.

doesn't anyone think it would look similar to the way fedor gnp'd nogueira in pride twice just dominating him from the top down? realistically at fight time you're talking almost a 50-60 lb difference in bodyweight- and brock's conditioning appears to be pretty strong. (using training vids and how fresh he looked after riding herring the entire fight)

Fedor would have to bust his skull open with a looper or catch a sub somehow. The only other option is see what happens if you can get him in deep water in the 4th/5th and see what happens.

also, whoever said crocop v brock-- thank you for the laugh. He's made tough guys look like complete jokes. Mir is dangerous on the ground on his back and couldn't even remotely protect himself from a roughhh beating.

love him or hate him- he's going no where for quite some time.

i had no rooting interest and i was shocked when they read the decision. belcher won the fight. he did ALL of the significant damage.

also that was not a flash knockdown - it wasnt super devastating either but it was more than just a guy being caught off balance.

Actually, watching the fight I thought it was a clear decision, and fightmetric seems to agree with me. Akiyama had a clear edge in the first 2 rounds, and the third was very close.

I was laughing when Joe Rogan had even mentioned the thought of it being a controversial decision.

And this isn't boxing. Knockdowns don't mean you win the round.

uhh, sorry you cant read.

Can't think of anything else that is currently possible, especially that would blow a mind. That or possibly something with Liddell. If GSP wasn't injured then maybe him and Anderson Silva are talking. Nothing else is coming to mind though.
I really doubt they sign Fedor before the Barnett fight. If he wins, his value to the UFC is about the same as it would be before the fight. If he loses, the UFC would gain a lot of negotiating power because 90% of Fedor's leverage comes from the mystique of his undefeated record. The UFC has nothing to gain by signing him now.

completely agree.

I had the first being close, but going to Belcher. The second going to Akiyama. And the third for sure went to Belcher, anyone saying the third was Akiyama's was watching a different fight

This is a great point.

Fedor is definitely a favorite if he fights Brock. Not sure if he is better than laying about 1.75:1 tho

Akiyama landed the more damaging blows in the first two rounds. Belcher may have had the highlight reel superman punch off of the fence, but outside of the poke to the eye, Akiyama wasn't really damaged all that much. I think belcher won the third round, but just barely and could easily see that as a 10-10 round in all honesty. I can also see some rationale for the match to have been a draw, but Belcher didn't really do enough to win
07-15-2009 , 01:54 AM
Was he announcing something today? I figured it was something he was announcing much later. I know they wouldn't sign him before the Barnett fight.

While that does make some sense, it may not apply to Fedor simply because of how impossible it's been to sign him and how much pressure Zuffa/DW have been to get it done, so i would think they'd take the chance if it was given even despite the Barnett risk. However, it's also a safe'ish bet that the announcement will not be Fedor.

please use your head, there is no way fedor is signing with someone else before finishing up this contract and at least entertaining what UFC is going to bring to the table---get real.

ufc definitely has preflim work done on an offer but nothing will be on the table until after the barnett fight.

that said, how much money would barnett stand to make if he could beat fedor? holy moly this fight is worth sooo much to him.

if fedor is a favorite over brock, i'm putting down a **** ton on brock to win, or at least heavily entertaining the idea.

oh man, i bet the ufc has a new contract for action figures, IM SO EXCITED
07-15-2009 , 04:17 AM
shogun

rampage

mini brock outside at the pool at mandalay bay....sorry for the darkness this guy was a ridic lookalike, he was obviously going for it too. I told him to "look bad bro!".....i realized how drunk i was when i walked up going, "mini brock lemme get a picture to send back to my friends" and was immediately relieved he didn't kick the piss out of me.

Rewatching 100 now.

Man, I can not describe how stoked I was for this Mir/Lesnar fight just based off ring entrances.

2 perfect themes, IMO.

Also, very hilarious seeing Guida in the background going nuts and singing Enter Sandman snapping photos as Lesnar walks to the ring.
