Returned Barbour jacket above. So ill-fitting. It's for the best anyway since I already have two quilted green jackets. I'm saving money!

I can't wear barbour, the sleeves are just way too short for me. I ended up getting a filson foul weather coat (which comes in long sizes) a couple of years ago, seems more durable than the barbour stuff I've seen.

I picked up an LL Bean jacket that looks a lot like that barbour (again, LL Bean makes tall sizes) but it's just plain unwaxed cotton. I'm thinking about waxing it myself but I am guessing an unwaxed cotton jacket is going to need a ****load of wax that first time (when I rewax my filson I end up using an entire can just to "top it off"). Has anyone ever tried something like that?

Crazy good deal on MMM Gats from the source. I got these Navy ones for $188, free shipping though tax for CA. I've never seen them this low. They cost more than this pre-owned on eBay and Grailed.

Also $188 in dark green, a bright blue and light gray, plus $238 in khaki with paint splatter.

Any idea if there's a customs hit?

They have a U.S. distribution center. These are mostly still available. I got my girlfriend a pair of purple GATs.

thanks Gaddy, picked up those MMMs in green. on customs: i'm in Canada, and they redirected me to a regional site where they tacked it on to the (otherwise free) express shipping cost. so if they didn't do that to you guys, you're likely fine.

Not sure about the grey but decided to kop. Kinda wish they had a gum sole.

Anyone else get their order cancelled? Just got an email. Size still in stock and all my payment info was correct.

Here's a dumb question:

Literally every pair of jeans I own, the zipper flap (piece of cloth that folds over the zipper, that I am sure has a real term of art) doesn't lay flat. Like, the bottom does but then the specific part that would be covering the zipper pull bows out. I don't spend a lot of time staring at other people's zippers trying to see if this happens to them too.

Is this standard? If not, why does it happen? I could see it being related to like, wearing jeans tight and so the tension at the button makes the fabric just below the button stretch out, or even wearing jeans low?

I haven't. It lists my order as in transit on the site. Did you try contacting them? I'd certainly want an explanation.

I replied to their cancellation email (said to in the email) and separately emailed support. No response.

I won’t be ordering anything from them in the future. Terrible customer service.

Damn, I read to size up 2 sizes from CP so I did so. I got mine today, days ahead of schedule. They fit well with the mid-thickness socks I'll wear with them. I'll post a pic later, just to make mullen feel bad.

Nice. I've read the same about sizing up at least once from CP so I suspected they'd prob be small. Decided to give it a shot if for no other reason than to confirm it.

Yeah, if you're going to wear thin-ish socks then I would say just size up one from CP. Here are mine and the girlfriend's MMM Gats.

Have tried to order sneakers from TCG's website twice in the last month. Both times they have charged my card, sent me confirmation emails, and then a couple days later told me they don't have the shoe in stock and asked me if I would like to use my payment as credit towards other shoes they do have or if I would like a refund. These are purely automated emails I receive too. Not even a personal message apologizing. Once I respond, it takes them 48 hours reply to my message. Its pure garbage. I like their shoes, but that's pretty bad customer service. Done with them.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with them?

Maybe others also don't know what TCG is?

My girlfriend made what might be a rookie mistake, and assumed that the 15-day return policy at Bottega Veneta included cash refunds, since she asked how long the "return period" was and the clerk didn't clarify that it was exchanges only. Perhaps "return" is assumed to mean "exchange" at those stores. Needless to say, she now has a $500 gift card to Bottega, and nothing to buy, if anyone is interested in taking it off our hands!

What is everyone's go to with casual footwear? For some reason, I always feel strange showing any sock with jeans (which I wear almost everyday), so have been trying to pick up some higher-end mid-tops to alternate with boots. Tried Common Projects, but was super disappointed on the comfort front.

I find my Common Projects comfortable if I wear my thinner socks with them (as otherwise they are a tight fit). I've walked a mile each way with them in comfort. My Maison Margiela GATs are a similar level of comfort. My multiple pairs of Epaulet sneakers are the most comfortable of the three. When I want to go extended comfort, I wear adidas ultra boosts.

CPs are notoriously narrow, so if you have wider feet, avoid.

Gustin, Svensson, and taft all have good alternatives that aren't quite as narrow.

Here's a good thread I found a while ago that's pretty useful: https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashion...e_sneakers_for

Not sure how extraordinary of a deal this is really, but Allen Edmonds has non-refurb/non-2nd Long Branch boots on their ebay page for $250. Fairly decent variety of size and colors. You can find some other good deals if you filter their inventory.
