Haven't really been following MMA recently as it's been lolbad but wtf Lee vs Ferguson? Khabib out due to ramadan? If so I guess it makes sense.

What % do you guys give to Conor coming back and fighting MMA by the end of 2017 like him & Dana have said he's going to? How about 2018?
09-05-2017 , 07:18 PM
40%, 85%
09-05-2017 , 07:21 PM
Unless its an NYE show, very low, prob less than 10%. I would guess 75% for 2018.

I was just coming back to comment on Taisumov's insane KO and 5-fight stoppage streak. Dude's looking insane. I want to see him against someone around #10.

Anyway, here's Urijah and Cody explaining what happened to Chris Holdsworth: https://oddshot.tv/s/upSpkE

Posted this several times in here before, but they're leaving out a ton of important info. I'm not debating if TJ illegally knee'd him in sparring or not but

https://www.mmafighting.com/2015/3/1...t-for-nearly-a

He got a concussion prior to his TUF finale in training by someone other than TJ. He continued to spar immediately after and fought anyways. Then after the fight went back to training and got another concussion in wrestling practice. Immediately continued to spar and went on to fight, despite complaining of severe concussion issues.

Then after the fight went right back to training and sparring again. Which is when he got knee'd by TJ.

So TAM had him immediately sparring and fighting after not one but two seperate concussions. No breaks at all. He was even complaining of concussion syndrome issues before his 2nd fight. But somehow it's all TJ's fault for landing a knee in sparring.

it was always going to be UFC 219 (30th dec, vegas) or nothing else for conor. but, i just remembered that that originally came about because he thought it would count on the forbes list, then realised that it doesn't run jan to dec. combine that with the fact that he was pretty non-committal when asked after the fight last week, and 40% is probably quite a bit too high.

i would be very shocked if he doesn't fight in the UFC next year though. diaz 3 is almost guaranteed to happen at some point and i think conor will be able to get $35-40m for it.

I feel like Faber inadvertently made Cody seem like a terrible training partner multiple times, like he's always trying to KO people in practice..

"Insider Jed Goodman reports the August 26 bout at T-Mobile Arena generated $55,414,865.79 in live gate takings, selling 13,094 tickets.

That's well below the $72,198,500 set by Mayweather-Pacquiao at the MGM Grand. "

I'd rather be forced to fight Cody than forced to listen to him talk.

Didn't Dana say that he would not allow Khabib to fight at LW again after messing up the weight cut for his fight vs Ferguson?

Faber said that TJ got tapped and THEN threw the knee after Chris Holdsworth let him up.

The way Faber/Cody described it, it made it sound like TJ immediately got up and just jammed a knee into the back of his head. Whats more likely is TJ got super aggressive after getting tapped and at some point hit him with an illegal knee during their sparring.

The larger question is why Faber/TAM had one of their fighters get multiple concussions and still let him continue to spar and fight despite having symptoms.

Holdsworth himself said he took a knee to the top of the head when he was on all 4s.

Holdsworth has never come out and **** talked TJ and has repeteadly said people don't know what they're talking when they quote Cody on TJ ending his career.

I don't trust a word TAM guys say. Bunch of Trump supporter ******s who drive around in lifted trucks with no shirts on and think it's funny to terrorize animals.

those dudes are complete garbage idiots. when you consider that they're a bunch of 5' tall wrestlers who dub themselves ALPHA MALES, it's really not surprising that they'd act that way

Rep,

Heh, that's just an extreme example of one of the weirdest things about pro fighting.

It's kinda crazy when Floyd is always rolling with an entourage of dudes who could beat his ass.

And that people say things like Conor is the baddest man on the planet, yet he's had two tough fights vs a journeyman lightweight fighter.

Just more evidence to show how truly GOAT bj penn was!

After the first two rounds, I started to think that this could be a relatively straightforward contest if we can maintain this.

..

Boxing is almost like a play. The first third of the fight is Act 1, the middle four rounds is Act 2 etc. We took Act 1, the second one was close, but Floyd was then in a better position to close things out in the conclusion.
just so delusional, almost to thremp levels

I’ve said for a long time that the Nate Diaz trilogy fight at lightweight is what I’d personally like to see next. That still needs to be put to bed.

Even though Conor is the champion, I know there’s an interim lightweight title fight coming up between Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee. To be completely honest, I didn’t actually know who Kevin was until very recently.

...

It’s probably a little late in the day to realistically expect another fight before the end of the year, because even after this hiatus is over, a lot goes into the planning and execution of a training camp at our level. I find it hard to envisage another fight in 2017.

Nick Diaz had a cameo on the latest episode of Ballers

Jesus that J. Kavanagh quote is just insane.

Yeah bro, you almost had him, and you would've got away with it too if not for those pesky lungs.

RT,

And pesky lack of ability to hurt opponent.

Lol at Kavanaugh boasting that he barely even knows who Kevin Lee is. What would you sayyy, ya do here?

don't forget he also said it about Jeremy Stephens (piggybacking on the 'who da fook is that guy' comment)

he's a strange cat
