Had a little look last night, and I've not been able to find it. Gave up after I just kept running into wierd tickling porn.

Currently watching Ross Kemp - The Fight Against ISIS that came out a couple of days ago. Currently 10min in, and not sure I want to watch more. It's definitely not jolly Saturday night viewing.

It's on Youtube, not sure how long it'll stay up though.

Not that I'm aware of, unfortunately. If youre US it's likely playing near you. The films website has a full list of cities screening the movie. If you can swing it, it'd be worth the trip. Easily an all time great documentary. Also, try not to read too much about it. The developments during the 2nd half of the movie are best enjoyed with a blank slate. No crazy twists, but it plays out like a damn scripted film.

Yeh I watched it all too. I kind of flip flopped between wanted to cry, then wanted to laugh at Kemp, as he tried his hardest to get shot.

He's in countries where everyone is dark skined, black-haired, and most of the men have moustaches or beards, while he's a very white potato head.

Then to make things worse, they all wear camo suitable for where they are. He wears a big black helmet, and a massive black flak jacket, which meant he could only 'run' at walking pace. Him hobbling over the open ground - he may as well just have put a giant target on his back for that sniper.

Still was a good documentary, and I have a lot respect for Kemp for getting access to places no one goes.

I was able to find Tickled playing at a local theatre. It was certainly interesting and well crafted, but I didn't find it to be enjoyable to watch, aside from a few laughs. I just didn't feel like there was much to be learned from watching it, except that there are sick/bizarre people out there who find ways to manipulate the system to their advantage (nothing new here). The tickling footage was pretty uncomfortable to watch.

The story of Helio Gracie and how he invented BJJ. Really good doc if you're into MMA.

Life Inside Jail: Hell On Earth - Follows the day-to-day lives in Albany County Jail in New York.

Normally I'm not a fan of the over-sensationalised, Americanised prison documentaries on YT, but turned out this was a recent British one, and narrated by Sean Bean. Turned out pretty good.

The uploader gave it the standard ridiculous title...

When you receive a bjj black belt you are supposed to recount the tale of jiu jitsu as a form in japan and how it made it's way to brazil, including all the masters and their succession.

Valley Uprising - I'm sure it's been mentioned here before, but I thought I'd just throw in my recommendation. Easily one of my favourite documentaries I've seen.

Simultaneously made me question what the hell am I doing with my life? but also realise that I'd probably hate that life.

Decided to watch another climbing documentary.

Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell attempting the Fitz traverse in Patagonia. Was good fun, partly because Honnold is useless on snow, but also because he's a really funny guy.

Lo Sound Desert

Allegedly ten years in the making, it is about the Stoner Rock (and Punk) scene of the Californian desert, just a couple of hours outside of L.A., I think. It is a fun watch, and recommended.

Big downside for me and most others, I suppose, is the total lack of Kyuss music in it. A QOTSA live take is from a rather recent gig I went to, and therefore pretty pointless here. We're talking about the famous generator parties and such that were dead by about '99.
Kyuss and most of their members actually appear in interviews and footage (I see Steineck's done some other stuff with Homme before) but their music does not. With all I've ever heard about Homme's business antics, seems likely that's where the issue is.

Not to take away from this effort at all. So many cool animations, interviews, characters and music in here. I've been to California twice now but never made it there. It looks gorgeous. It must've been awesome back then to see these bands out s/w in the desert.

Desert Sessions are not mentioned in this doc, in case you're wondering.

For the German-speaking folks itt. If there are any? I'm not sure if this will play from Austria and Switzerland also.

Excellent doc about a 19-year-old who killed his best friend (near Paderborn). The "Hautnah" series by WDR is generally very good imo.

Is there anyway to stream Weiner outside the US? I'd pay for a rent, but it's not possible without an American credit card.

Just watched Werner Herzog's new doc, Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World.

A very intriguing look into the multitude of ways that the internet and technology are shaping our world. This is pretty much a perfect documentary in my books.

Disclaimer: I am a huge Herzog fanboy.

FYP

It was a good watch. I remember watching the original documentary again after the news on Saville came out and thought Louis hadn't completely been suckered by him. Seems like it's been eating away at him, understandable given he considered him a friend. I grew up in the UK and always found Jimmy creepy.

It was interesting to see the various parties now making sense of the revealed information. It still amazes me that with that many cases it still took so long to come out.

Btw the link's dead now.

It's a lot like going clear, same ex scientologists etc. Although there are amusing parts and well worth the watch if you're a fan of Louis.

Yeah it's shocking to think he got away with it. I always thought he was just an eccentric old man, which I guess a lot of people did.

New link until the BBC take it down...

Regs of this thread might like the show Documentary Now on IFC. Starring Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, with Seth Meyers as a writer. Each episode is a parody of a famous documentary.

Best one so far imo is the parody of Jiro Dreams Of Sushi, called Juan Likes Rice And Chicken. It's about an old guy in Colombia who has a little restaurant that only serves arroz con pollo.
